Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston addressed Natasha Cloud's ongoing WNBA free agency on "Post Moves," with Cloud still unsigned as camps approach.
Natasha Cloud remains a free agent, and two of the WNBA's most recognizable voices have taken notice.
Cloud, 34, was one of the most productive guards available this offseason. She averaged 10.1 points and 5.1 assists in 29 minutes per game with the New York Liberty in 2025 and drew frequent assignments against opposing lead ball handlers. The WNBA's free agency period has largely wrapped, and she is still without a team.
Cloud posted about her situation on Threads on April 19.
"I'm okay. Just taking things in; even if they weren't what I expected, & trusting I'll be alright," Cloud wrote.
Her post also thanked fans and peers for messages of support.
Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston discussed Cloud's free agency on the April 22 episode of their "Post Moves" podcast. Boston was Cloud's teammate at Unrivaled this past offseason.
"I love Tash. I just really love Tash," Boston said. "I think Tash is just such a great teammate... I want to see her on a team."
Parker, a three-time WNBA champion, said Cloud's track record as a veteran should carry weight.
"Tash, I hope she gets picked up," Parker said. "I think she especially raises her level of play; you always need a vet like that. A lot of people are asking whether it's her social [media] advocacy or activism that is keeping her off a team. I hope not. I think the WNBA is about activism."
Cloud is an outspoken presence on social media and has been critical of several team ownership groups, particularly during CBA negotiations. There has been speculation online that those public stances have factored into her market. That speculation is unconfirmed.
Cloud's 2025 advanced metrics were less favorable than her traditional numbers. She graded out as the Liberty's worst player by Net Points, a stat that measures a player's direct scoring impact by assigning credit or blame on individual plays.
Tina Charles, 37, is the other prominent free agent still unsigned. Charles is a probable Hall of Fame inductee, though her age lessens the surprise of a slow market.
Cloud contributed to a Liberty team that finished among the WNBA's title contenders in 2025. Training camps open soon.
