The Minnesota Lynx erased a 12-point deficit at College Park Center on Thursday and beat the Dallas Wings 90-86 to improve to 2-1. The Lynx outscored the Wings 22-16 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback.
It marked Minnesota's second straight comeback win without forward Napheesa Collier. The Lynx trailed the Phoenix Mercury at halftime Tuesday before pulling out an 88-84 win.
Courtney Williams scored 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting and connected on 3-of-4 from three. She also finished with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in 30 minutes. Olivia Miles posted 15 points and 6 assists. Nia Coffey went 5-of-6 from the field and 3-of-3 from three for 13 points, adding 8 rebounds.
Natasha Howard led the Lynx with 26 points on 11-of-14 shooting. She also finished with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks in nearly 35 minutes. Howard committed a game-high 7 turnovers despite the efficient scoring effort.
Minnesota shot 60.3% from the field and 46.2% from three. The Lynx posted 48 points in the paint, scored 18 second-chance points on a perfect 7-of-7 effort, and held a 31-26 rebounding edge.
Paige Bueckers paced the Wings with 27 points, 3 rebounds, and 8 assists. She went 10-of-11 from the foul line. Maddy Siegrist came off the bench for 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Odyssey Sims chipped in 11. Alanna Smith had 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Dallas shot 46.3% from the field and 29.4% from three, dropping to 1-2 on the season. The Wings have shot a combined 9-of-43 from three across their two home losses this week.
