The Indiana Fever reached an agreement with restricted free agent Lexie Hull

Lexie Hull isn't going anywhere.

The Indiana Fever announced on Saturday that the franchise reached an agreement with Hull on a new contract.

Hull was a restricted free agent.

“You talk about certain players as being kind of plug-and-play players,” Fever hea coach Stephanie White said. “They can play with any lineup. They can play in multiple positions. You know what you’re going to get, they’re consistent…Lexie is one of those.

“She locks down on the defensive end of the floor. She’s continued to improve her game offensively. I think she’s one of the best cutters in the league, as well as her three point shooting ability, so it is a luxury to have a player like that.”

Hull appeared in 44 games last season. She averaged 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.2 blocks per game.

The Fever went 24-20 last season. They beat the Atlanta Dream in the first round of the playoffs but lost to the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA Semifinals.

Indiana selected Hull with the sixth overall pick in the 2022 draft out of Stanford. Hull has career averages of 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks per game. She is close friends with superstar Caitlin Clark.

“Ensuring Lexie’s return was a high priority for us,” Fever GM and COO Amber Cox said. “She represents the heart of our team, and that was never more evident than in our playoff run last season. She impacts every aspect of the game on both ends of the floor and is a vital member of our core group. We are thrilled to have her back in a Fever uniform.”

Clark showed the entire basketball world that she’s healthy again during the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament. The Iowa product was named MVP of the tournament after helping Team USA to a 5-0 record while averaging 11.6 points and a team-high 6.4 assists per game.
