Rapper Megan Thee Stallion announced on social media that she has broken up with Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Klay Thompson for cheating.

Rumors on social media suggested that Thompson cheated on Megan Thee Stallion with Seattle Storm guard Lexie Brown, but Brown told Jackson Thompson of Fox News that those rumors are false.

"The truth is over there somewhere and I was expecting it to reveal itself from that side of it, the side that actually has the issue," Brown told Fox News Digital. "So for them to just allow me to get dragged, for a lot of people to allow me to get dragged through the mud for three or four days now, knowing 100% that what was being said is false, that surely someone would step in and say, 'No, this is a lie, please point your fingers somewhere else or don't point them at all.' ... It didn't happen."

Brown has been forced to hire security to travel with her, and her family has also begun receiving threatening messages. She said she eventually turned off her social media comments and deleted the apps from her phone.

"I was getting threats on my life. I was getting threats on my health," Brown said. "My family started getting comments and threats from people. I've had to hire security to travel with me places. So it got to a point where I just was scared for myself."

Brown's father, former NBA guard Dee Brown, also spoke to Fox News about watching his daughter go through the ordeal.

"As a father, watching the negative, hateful, and most importantly, false attacks lobbed at my daughter has been debilitating," Dee Brown said. "Seeing her live in absolute fear and exhaustion over these false attacks, and then seeing these attacks repeated by so many media outlets without even a shred of proof is beyond horrifying."

Brown also said she does not have a personal relationship with Klay Thompson or Megan Thee Stallion.

"Me and Klay, we know each other because we do play professional basketball. I wouldn't have considered him a friend. I do not know Meg The Stallion at all," Brown said.

The stress of the situation also posed a physical risk for Brown, who has battled Crohn's disease for the past three years. She first developed the condition while playing for the Los Angeles Sparks in 2023, lost 30 pounds, and required multiple surgeries during her recovery. Brown said the anxiety from the rumors could have triggered a flare-up, but her current medical routine in Seattle helped her avoid that.

The 31-year-old Brown has been in the WNBA since 2018. She has played for the Connecticut Sun, Minnesota Lynx, Chicago Sky, Los Angeles Sparks and Storm. The Duke product has career averages of 5.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in 175 contests.

Brown won the 2021 WNBA championship with the Sky against the Phoenix Mercury. She's the daughter of former NBA guard Dee Brown.
