The Los Angeles Sparks announced that star guard Kelsey Plum is out with a lower left leg injury and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

One of the best players in the WNBA, Plum is averaging 23.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game this season while shooting 52.7% from the field, 38.3% from beyond the arc and 80.6% from the free-throw line.
Plum is second in the WNBA in points per game, trailing only Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson, her former teammate.
With Plum out, the Sparks will need everyone on the roster to play at a high level to stay afloat. LA is in fifth place in the Western Conference standings.
The Sparks are eighth in the WNBA in points per game. They are averaging 88.4 points per contest. That number will probably drop moving forward with Plum sidelined.
A four-time All-Star, Plum was the first overall pick in the 2017 draft by the San Antonio Stars. She spent just one year in San Antonio, though, averaging 8.5 points per game.
From 2018 to 2024, Plum played for the Aces. She won two championships and the 2021 Sixth Player of the Year Award. Plum also made three All-Star teams and one All-WNBA team with Las Vegas.
Plum joined the Sparks in 2025 via a trade with the Aces.
In April, Plum signed a one-year, $999,999 extension with Los Angeles. She was in line for the $1.4 million supermax but opted to sign at a discounted rate to give the Sparks financial flexibility to build a title-contending roster.
Plum holds career averages of 15.4 points per game in the WNBA. She is an Olympic gold medalist with both the 5-on-5 (2024) and 3x3 (2020) U.S. teams.
