The Toronto Tempo earned their first WNBA victory in franchise history with an 86-73 win over the Seattle Storm on Wednesday at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

The Toronto Tempo outscored the Seattle Storm 42-28 in the second half to earn the expansion franchise's first WNBA victory, 86-73 on Wednesday at Coca-Cola Coliseum. Marina Mabrey scored 26 points to lead the Tempo.

Brittney Sykes added 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists for Toronto, shooting 5-of-14 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Maria Conde scored 16 points with 8 rebounds and made four three-pointers off the bench. Kiki Rice added 12 points off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting, and Nyara Sabally finished with 8 points and 5 rebounds. Julie Allemand contributed 2 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals.

Mabrey shot 9-of-20 from the field and 6-of-11 from three-point range. She added 4 steals. Mabrey, in her eighth WNBA season, joined the Tempo in the offseason.

The Tempo shot 43.5% from the field and 37.9% from three-point range while going 15-of-18 (83.3%) from the free-throw line. Toronto got 28 points from its bench, including 16 from Conde and 12 from Rice. The Tempo improved to 1-1 on the season.

Dominique Malonga led the Storm with 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting, adding 7 rebounds. Stefanie Dolson scored 16 points with 3 rebounds and 2 blocks. Jade Melbourne posted 14 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Zia Cooke added 7 points off the bench.

Seattle shot 46.6% from the field but committed 19 turnovers. The Tempo scored 26 points off those takeaways and recorded 11 steals to Seattle's 6. The Storm shot 12-of-17 (70.6%) from the free-throw line. They dropped to 1-2 on the season.

The Tempo led 27-22 after the first quarter before Seattle responded with a 23-17 second quarter to take a 45-44 halftime lead. Toronto outscored Seattle 23-17 in the third quarter and 19-11 in the fourth quarter to pull away. The teams traded nine lead changes and were tied three times.

Toronto outrebounded Seattle 33-28, including 9 offensive rebounds, and dominated fast-break points 17-2. The Tempo led by as many as 13 points; Seattle's biggest lead was 4.

Malonga's 21 points came on 19 field-goal attempts. The 6-foot-6 French center was selected second overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft by Seattle and is in her second WNBA season.

Toronto was without Temi Fagbenle (right shoulder) and Harrison (right hand).

The Storm were without Ezi Magbegor (right foot) and Katie Lou Samuelson (right knee). Awa Fam was listed as not with the team.
