Angel Reese celebrates a huge moment for her boyfriend, Wendell Carter Jr., against the LA Lakers.

While Los Angeles Lakers fans were left frustrated after watching their team squander a 12-point lead against the Orlando Magic, one person who certainly enjoyed the outcome was Angel Reese. The excitement only grew sweeter for the "Bayou Barbie" as her boyfriend, Wendell Carter Jr., delivered the game-winning bucket.

The WNBA star took to social media afterward, posting a simple two-word message that perfectly captured how proud she was of his clutch performance.

During his first two full seasons in Orlando, Carter Jr. showed immense promise by averaging 15.1 points per game across that stretch. Although his production dipped slightly after that, the 2025-26 season has seen him rediscover his rhythm and establish himself as a dominant force in the post — and that's exactly what he did against the star-studded Lakers.

Carter Jr. dropped 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting along with 11 rebounds, including the game-winning bucket that gave the Magic a 110-109 lead with less than 10 seconds remaining, ultimately proving to be the difference. It was the kind of complete performance Orlando has been waiting for from the former lottery pick, and it came on one of the league's biggest stages.

While it was understandable for the Magic to celebrate, Reese was also overwhelmed watching her boyfriend seal the win, and she didn't hesitate to make her feelings public on social media.

If the Magic hope to emerge as a surprise contender heading into the 2026 postseason, performances like these from Carter Jr. will be vital. Orlando has the talent to make noise, but consistency from Carter Jr. on both ends of the floor could be the X-factor that separates them from the rest of the pack in a loaded Eastern Conference.

Reese herself faces an equally important stretch in her own career. Her immediate focus remains on helping Rose Basketball Club defend its title in Unrivaled before shifting attention to the upcoming WNBA campaign, where her primary aim is to lead the Sky back into playoff contention for the first time since her arrival. After a record-setting rookie season, expectations in Chicago are only climbing.

For now, though, the basketball power couple appears fully locked in — supporting each other's journeys while balancing demanding seasons of their own. With both stars chasing success in different leagues, hopefully, they'll have plenty more moments to celebrate each other along the way.
