It has been suggested that Ajax should consider signing Shane Kluivert from Barcelona.

PSG want to sign Mika Godts!More Videos

One of Ajax's biggest priorities in the coming weeks will be replacing Mika Godts, should the Belgian winger depart for Paris Saint-Germain.

Godts has reached an agreement on personal terms with the two-time European champions, and talks are currently ongoing as the two clubs look to find an agreement. Intermediaries also said to be involved. The Parisians' first offer for Godts, which was worth €45 million, fell well under Ajax's asking price, which is said to be in excess of €60 million.

Noa Lang is high on Ajax's list of targets as a possible replacement for Godts, and Ajax have held talks over a potential deal. Napoli reportedly wants €25 million for the Dutch winger, but a loan deal, with an option to buy, could also be explored. Lang is said to be open to a return to the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

Should Godts leave, it would also provide Ajax with the funds to strengthen their right wing, and the club are reportedly interested in Barcelona's Roony Bardghji.

Ajax told to sign Kluivert

Adil Ramzi, the manager of the Netherlands' under-19 team, believes Shane Kluivert should be considered as a replacement for Godts, in the event he does depart to Paris.

"Players from Ajax and PSV have good technique. But Shane is even further ahead in that regard. He plays everything hard, onto the right foot. His first touches are good. He learned that at the Barça academy," Ramzi told NU.nl.

"In the long term, he can break through at Barcelona. Although I would first like to see him on loan at an Eredivisie club. Perhaps at Ajax, as a replacement for Mika Godts," Ramzi explained further.

Kluivert not what Ajax need

While Kluivert is obviously a very big talent, he is not ready to replace Godts at Ajax.

Godts registered 17 goals and 12 assists in the Eredivisie last season and was arguably the best attacker in the league. Ajax simply cannot replace him with a player with minimal first-team experience.

Ajax have been linked to Lang, and while he has struggled since moving to Napoli last summer, he was incredible for PSV Eindhoven, as he was for Club Brugge in Belgium. The reported €25 million is quite high for a player who has not reached the level he was expected to in Naples.

Napoli signed him for a reported fee of €28 million, and given he was already loaned out in January to Galatasaray, where he also struggled, it's logical to assume his value has dropped by more than just €3 million.

Antonio Conte didn't seem to rate Lang, but Napoli now have a new manager in Massimiliano Allegri. Despite the change in manager, though, Napoli reportedly still wants to sell Lang.

If Ajax could agree a loan deal with an option to buy next summer, or a permanent deal for around €20 million, it's a signing they should definitely make.

While Lang is not as good as Godts, he could replace a sizeable chunk of Godts' output.
