Don’t Think Shivam Dube Should Be Compared To Me, He Should Make His Own Name: Yuvraj Singh

As Dube’s and Yuvraj’s technique look quite similar, fans have started to compare the youngster with the World Cup winning star. However, Yuvraj said this is not the right time to make such comparisons as Dube is just starting out on his career.

I find cricketer Yuvraj Singh to be a really wonderful person. He was among the greatest players ever, not only for his outstanding statistics but also for the way his outstanding fielding and speed revolutionised the way the Indian team played. He cannot be reasonably compared to other players because of how different he is from them.

People frequently compare upcoming players with the greats that came before them. Although this might occasionally be damaging, it gives us hope that the new player might someday develop into a player of equal calibre. We ought to concentrate on how they might complement one another and cooperate towards a common objective rather than how they differ from one another.

As an example, although people once compared Virat to Sachin, they now do it with Gill. There will always be these comparisons. We should concentrate on how they can improve and develop into great players rather than just focusing on how they are different from one another.
