📺 METV‼️Gulliver's Travels (2010)
(Family/Comedy)
Note that there are no insignificant tasks, only insignificant people, specifically, very small ones. In an attempt to impress his office crush, a mailroom worker named Gulliver pretends to have a exciting job, which gets him sent to Bermuda to write a travel article.
However, a sudden change in the weather causes his boat to capsize, and he finds himself in the diminutive land of Lilliput. Critics panned this film when it was released in 2010.
Although I saw it in the cinema, I quickly forgot about it.
However, I recently rewatched it on Blu-ray 3D and found it to be unexpectedly amusing. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it's far from terrible and offers a pleasant, laid-back viewing experience.
Although the cast includes many big-name stars, the acting is not equally impressive. Nevertheless, the humor is light-hearted and somewhat predictable, but it did manage to make me chuckle a few times.
I particularly enjoyed the special effects, which use traditional techniques to portray an oversized Jack Black. The result is reminiscent of old Hollywood action-adventure films.
Unfortunately, the story is quite forgettable. Although I found the opening sequence and the exchanges between Black and TJ Miller amusing, the rest of the film is generic and lacks luster.
However, I was able to overlook the absurdity of the idea that the tiny residents of Lilliput could accommodate a giant-sized character like Jack Black's and construct furniture for him with ease. The 3D effects were minimal, apart from the opening credits which featured a stop-motion miniature city and had some depth. Everything that followed was mostly flat.
I strongly disliked the musical number at the end of the film, which felt out of place and lacked humor. I question the decision-making process that led to the inclusion of a poorly executed all-cast musical performance of 'War'.
Moreover, the talent of Billy Connolly, one of the greatest comedians, was underutilized with no funny lines. In conclusion, while the movie has its funny moments and is not as poor as some reviews suggest, it is ultimately forgettable and underwhelming.
The all-star cast was not utilized to its full potential, and the acting was sub-par. Nonetheless, it's not the worst film I've seen from Jack Black, but there's not much to recommend here.Jul 1, 2024
📺 METV‼️IF (2024)
(Family/Comedy)
'IF,' directed by John Krasinski, bursts onto the screen with the energy and vibrancy of a child's imagination.
The film takes place in a fanciful world inhabited by endearing imaginary friends, or 'IFs,' vividly brought to life through creative imagination. The movie's sincerity, humor, and charm are sure to captivate younger viewers.
At its core, 'IF' is a tribute to the power of imagination and the importance of nurturing our inner child, especially during times of loss and fear. Krasinski, making his directorial debut in this genre, creates a visually stunning world inspired by classic family films like 'Toy Story' and 'Monsters, Inc
.' The film's emotional heart lies with young Bea (Cailey Fleming), whose ability to see IFs becomes both a sanctuary and a source of growth as she copes with the death of her mother and the fear of losing her father.
However, while 'IF' is a visual delight with a heart in the right place, its ambitious narrative can sometimes feel disjointed. The abundance of characters and fantastical concepts, while intriguing, are not always fully developed, leaving the storyline somewhat disconnected.
Despite this, 'IF' ultimately succeeds due to its infectious energy and the genuine warmth from its performances. Ryan Reynolds shines as the irrepressible Cal, and Fleming delivers a moving performance as Bea.
The film's emotional conclusion, set to Michael Giacchino's poignant score, is sure to leave a lasting impact.
Although 'If' might not be a flawless film, its contagious energy and emotional message make it a delightful and eventually moving watch.
Krasinski's venture into family fantasy might be somewhat disorganized, but it is a chaotic situation worth accepting for its appreciation of imagination, tenacity, and the enduring strength of childhood wonder in the face of life's toughest trials.Jun 22, 2024
📺 METV‼️The Great Wall
(2016)
(Action/Fantas)
I hadn't planned on watching this film after reading negative reviews, but I changed my mind when I saw a cheap 3D Blu-ray copy online.
Contrary to my expectations of a historical epic like 'The Last Samurai,' the film turned out to be an action-packed flick similar to 'Independence Day,' though the promotional material didn't convey this.
Overall, I found it to be an average action film with impressive visuals, including unique-looking demons with eyes on their shoulders.
However, it was still formulaic and lacked character development. The pacing was uneven, with exciting battle scenes followed by slow moments. The acting was unremarkable, and I felt indifferent towards the high death toll.
My friend likened the ending to 'Sharknado,' which I think is an accurate description of the film's b-grade feel. The rule about killing the queen to defeat the demons was also unoriginal, reminiscent of both 'Starship Troopers' and 'Independence Day.'
Either on Independence Day or during Marvel's Avengers, the repetitiveness of the plot has become tedious.
Matt Damon's character, though well-played, is excessively perfect, never missing a shot with his bow and even tossing a shield like Captain America. His lack of weaknesses made him dull.
The film boasted a talented cast, but they were underutilized. One scene that stood out to me was when William Dafoe's character was kidnapped in the desert and his captors accidentally dropped a ceramic grenade into an open fire pit.
leading to Dafoe's priceless expression and muffled yells as his mouth was tied shut, which I found entertaining, although I'm unsure if that was the intended effect.
Ultimately, the film has a B-movie feel despite its big-screen budget. It's packed with action, absurd scenarios, constant CGI, and predictable plot points. Despite the spectacular-looking fights, that's all it offers.
The movie wasn't what I anticipated, and I don't think it was advertised effectively. While it may appeal to some, I don't feel compelled to watch it again.Jun 19, 2024
📺 METV‼️Mid-Year Movie 🎥.
My Most Favorite Movie is (Godzilla X-Kong) Do you like it?🎬
This film stands as an exceptional work of art, a testament to Adam Wingard's artistry. His love for Godzilla and Kong shines through in this cinematic masterpiece.
The CGI transforms the monsters into living, breathing entities, infusing them with distinct personalities and lifelike movements, while retaining the iconic cartoonish flair that defines kaiju films.
The film seamlessly revives the spirit of the Showa era, featuring Godzilla as the guardian of the planet's balance, while Kong embarks on a perilous journey to find his true home.
Kong embodies the archetype of the lone warrior, drawing inspiration from characters like Conan the Barbarian, Mad Max, and the Man With No Name. His nuanced personality blends toughness and vulnerability, humanizing him for the audience.
The inclusion of extended scenes featuring only the monsters grants them a relatable depth, while delivering the non-stop action that fans crave.
The film deftly addresses Godzilla's evolving appearance, providing a logical explanation that pays homage to his iconic 'MireGoji' design from 1999 and 2000.
Despite Kong's more prominent role in the narrative, Godzilla remains integral to the story, revealing the enigmatic origins of his species as protectors of nature and humanity.
Godzilla, despite his reptilian nature and tough exterior, reveals a surprising depth of personality. He possesses both a gentle side and remarkable intelligence, making him truly magnificent.
The inclusion of titans from the graphic novels, even if not officially canon, provides a satisfying link for fans who enjoy the expanded lore. New monsters like the Skar King bring a fresh level of power, rivaling even King Ghidorah in his villainous nature.
This addition not only expands Godzilla's rogues' gallery but also adds a formidable opponent to Kong's list of enemies.By minimizing the focus on human characters and big stars, the film allowed for a truly epic kaiju showdown.
While still maintaining a clear story, it builds upon the Monsterverse lore. Godzilla and Kong undeniably steal the show, captivating the audience with their thrilling battle.
Whether you're a Godzilla, Kong, or both fan, this film delivers on all fronts: adventure, action, sci-fi, and of course, giant monsters galore. It's a must-watch that earns a place in any personal collection. LONG LIVE THE KINGS!
Do your like it? Or watch it? It's really so good movie all was for me and I always liked it. In this time I three times watch this movie. Hope you also enjoy this.

📺 METV‼️Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018)
(Action/Sci-fi )
'The Maze Runner' trilogy is one of the best movie series I've ever seen.
The intense action and emotional depth pulled me in, making me feel every character's struggle. I was completely engrossed, even feeling a deep sadness mixed with a sense of mystery.
While I haven't read the books, the visually stunning film adaptation, with its breathtaking scenery, haunting music, and impactful climaxes, is a must-see.
The ending, though bittersweet, left a lasting impression. The death of Newt, my favorite character, was particularly heartbreaking, though the film's powerful message made me accept his fate.
The entire series, from the first film to the final 'Death Cure,' was brilliantly crafted, leaving me wanting to rewatch it all over again.
Despite the sadness, I found the ending both good and bad, a fitting conclusion to a complex story.
While not everyone will love the series, I believe it deserves recognition for its captivating storytelling and phenomenal acting.
Even if you don't agree with my opinion, I urge you to appreciate the hard work of the cast and crew. Watch the bloopers, they're hilarious! Without a doubt, I would recommend this film to anyone.
It's great to see the series finally getting the praise it deserves after all these years.Jun 12, 2024
📺 METV‼️Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)
(Action/Comedy)
I commend this film with the utmost enthusiasm for its captivating storyline and exceptional execution.
Unlike its predecessor, this installment seamlessly blends emotion, humor, action, and character development, surpassing the shortcomings of the third film.
The adrenaline-pumping action sequences engage the audience, immersing them in the cinematic experience akin to the first two installments.
In contrast to the third film's attempts at modernity and humor, this installment deftly focuses on the core elements that define Bad Boys.
The film's wit and action sequences distinguish it from its predecessors, creating a unique cinematic experience.
The exploration of Marcus's character adds depth and nuance to the narrative, enriching the film's emotional resonance.
This movie exudes a fan-centric spirit, capturing the essence of Bad Boys and rekindling the nostalgia of the early 2000s.
Despite some minor shortcomings, this film delivers an exceptional viewing experience, earning a well-deserved 8/10 rating.Jun 8, 2024

📺 METV‼️Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
(Sci-fi/Thriller)
'Blade Runner 2049' Review:
'Pain reminds you the joy you felt was real'.
This poignant quote encapsulates the essence of 'Blade Runner 2049', a film that transcends the boundaries of sequels and stands as a masterpiece in its own right.
WOW! WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW! And another WOW!
This is how I felt throughout the entire viewing experience. 'Blade Runner 2049' is a phenomenal follow-up to the original, addressing the shortcomings of the 1982 film without relying on director's cuts or extended versions.
It's everything a sequel should be: respectful of its predecessor while forging its own path. And the best part? You can watch this film without having seen the original and still be completely engrossed. This is a lesson that 'The Force Awakens', 'Jurassic World', and 'Finding Dory' should take to heart.
'Blade Runner 2049' is a film that will inspire aspiring filmmakers to pick up a camera and create art. It's that good.As I said in my review of 'Arrival', Denis Villeneuve is a director who consistently pushes the boundaries of cinematic excellence.
Each film he releases feels like a masterpiece in the making, and 'Blade Runner 2049' truly lives up to that expectation. His previous films, 'Prisoners' and 'Enemy', showcased immense promise, but Villeneuve has surpassed even those expectations with this film. He displays an incredible respect for the original 'Blade Runner' without resorting to nostalgic pandering for easy audience appeal. Instead, he adds fresh perspectives to the universe, making the film truly thought-provoking.
Roger Deakins, a master cinematographer, consistently outdoes himself with every film he works on. This might be his best work yet. The stunning imagery, framing, and masterful use of darkness and neon lights contribute significantly to the film's awe-inspiring world-building. It's one of the most visually stunning films I've seen this year, and nothing will top it.
If Deakins doesn't win an Oscar for his work on this film, then nothing will. The Academy has lost my respect over the years, but this would be a truly egregious oversight.
The performances in the film were uniformly excellent. Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright were, as always, brilliant.
Harrison Ford delivered what was perhaps his most captivating performance to date. And Jared Leto, finally shedding the baggage of his 'Suicide Squad' role, showcased genuine acting talent in a limited screen time. His portrayal felt authentic and grounded, a welcome departure from his previous over-the-top style.
The score was truly phenomenal, possessing a raw power that literally vibrated the cinema speakers. The impact was so powerful that I didn't even need to see it in IMAX.
What truly surprised me was the film's captivating storytelling and emotional depth. By the end, I found myself fighting back tears. The filmmakers opted for practical effects over extensive CGI, and the results are remarkable.
Overall, Villeneuve achieved what many considered impossible. His next film is eagerly anticipated. I highly recommend seeing this movie – it's a must-see.Jun 1, 2024
📺 METV‼️Atlas 2024
(Sci-fi/Action)
I thoroughly enjoyed the film; albeit not extraordinary, it provided ample enjoyment, largely due to Jennifer Lopez's outstanding performance and the exciting action sequences.
The storyline was commendable, with emotional peaks, especially the finale that moved me to tears, and even my sister across the room. This movie certainly has moments capable of evoking feelings. In terms of acting, my opinions are mixed. While some actors delivered lackluster performances, others were remarkably good or decent.
For instance, Abraham Popoola's portrayal of a robot seemed overly inspired by the T-800 from the Terminator franchise, with his stone-faced demeanor and unaffected response to being shot at, which came off as unconvincing. Simu Liu, who played the main villain, a robot terrorist, had a more successful performance, despite initial uncertainty about his character.
However, during the climactic fight with Jennifer Lopez, he truly shone, albeit his character bore striking similarities to Marvel characters, due to his fighting style and damage wounds, which resembled the ALIEN franchise robots, even down to the milk-like substance seeping from his injuries and his manner of speaking. As a result, viewers might speculate about a connection to the ALIEN Franchise, as they did with Blade Runner.
Jennifer excelled in action roles, embodying a physicality that suited the demanding nature of such portrayals.
Her character's compelling narrative explored her conflict with AI, stemming from a traumatic past that shaped her fears. However, her eventual reconciliation with the robotic suit's AI hinted at a deeper significance.
The film's humor provided moments of levity, while the CGI effectively depicted the futuristic elements. However, some sequences resembled game graphics.
The alien planet Jennifer visited resembled Pandora from the 'Avatar' movies, albeit with less vibrant colors. Her presence in a robotic suit on this planet evoked similar imagery to the villainous avatars in 'Avatar.'
Despite its lack of originality, the film's blend of elements from 'Avatar,' 'Terminator,' 'Alien,' and 'Iron Man' entertained. While a sequel seems unlikely, a Netflix series based on Jennifer's character could potentially expand on the film's narrative.May 29, 2024

📺 METV‼️Uncharted (2022)
(Action/Adventure)
As a seasoned player who has completed every Uncharted game multiple times, achieving 100% completion in each, I can confidently say that this film adaptation was a phenomenal success. Tom Holland masterfully captured Nathan's essence, with his charm, wit, humor, and heart shining through in a unique way.
It truly felt like Tom Holland's Nathan Drake without coming across as an imitation. I eagerly anticipate seeing more of him in future installments. Mark Wahlberg also delivered a commendable performance as Sully, showcasing his seasoned yet deeply caring personality. Sophia Ali's portrayal of Chloe was exceptional, with her character's twists and turns handled with precision.
The rest of the cast also did justice to their roles. In terms of the story, the film brilliantly captured the essence of the Uncharted series. 📺 METV‼️Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)
(Action/Sci-fi)
'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' emerges as a powerful successor to the legacy left by Caesar, the esteemed leader whose memory still casts a long shadow over this expanding narrative.
Set approximately three centuries after the tumultuous events of 'War for the Planet of the Apes,' this standalone entry serves as both a tribute to its predecessors and a bold new beginning for the franchise.
The film delves deep into the complex dynamics between humans and apes, refusing to oversimplify the multifaceted layers of conflict and coexistence that define their interactions. This unwavering commitment to maintaining tension creates a fertile ground for character growth and development, ensuring that the audience remains invested in the journey of both species.
Visually, 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' is a testament to the continued technical prowess that the series is known for. The seamless integration of motion-capture performances and state-of-the-art visual effects not only breathes life into the apes with astonishing realism but also amplifies the emotional impact of their struggles.
The narrative is enhanced by themes that delve into leadership, self-discovery, and the pursuit of a collective future, all of which profoundly resonate within today's social landscape. The film's capacity to address these themes while providing a gripping and enjoyable storyline is a testament to its thoughtful script and skilled direction.
In the absence of Caesar, Noa takes center stage as the main protagonist, bearing the weight of a new era on his shoulders. Noa's character is meticulously crafted, embodying a complex blend of respect for Caesar's teachings and a daring willingness to challenge them.
This nuanced portrayal of Noa is crucial to the story, as his reinterpretation of Caesar's iconic mantra—shifting from 'Apes together strong' to the more inclusive 'No, together strong,' with humanity included—lays the philosophical and ideological foundation for the trilogy's future direction.
In summary, 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' emerges as a compelling and significant addition to the franchise's legacy. It is a film that pays homage to its origins while boldly venturing forward, offering viewers a profound and exhilarating experience that not only entertains but also encourages introspection about our own world.
With Noa at the helm, the future of this new trilogy brims with potential, promising a cinematic journey that will continue to captivate and challenge audiences for years to come.
This movie is fully outstanding. I also said that movie of the week. It's really so classic and very best plot. Hope you also enjoy this movie. Leave a comment about this movie.

📺 METV‼️Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) ‧
(Action/Sci-fi)
'Jurassic World' demonstrated that dinosaurs were not fictional monsters, but real animals that dominated Earth 65 million years ago, long before humans existed.
'Fallen Kingdom' explores a poignant conflict between conservation and extinction, as dinosaurs face imminent danger from volcanic eruptions.
A group of businessmen, led by the ruthless Elijah Mills, schemes to exploit the endangered dinosaurs for profit, creating the formidable prototype Indoraptor.
The introduction of new dinosaurs, including the Allosaurus, Sinoceratops, Baryonyx, and Carnotaurus, enriches the film's prehistoric landscape.
The film's captivating storyline and clever writing make for an engaging experience.
Director J.A. Bayona's exceptional vision manifests in the film's precise timing, evocative locations, and emotional depth, grounding the fantastical elements in reality.
The second half culminates in a gripping showdown at the Lockwood manor, showcasing the Indoraptor's prowess and the film's imaginative and tense atmosphere.
'Fallen Kingdom' masterfully blends genres, seamlessly transitioning between drama, gothic horror, action, comedy, and disaster, delivering a cohesive and entertaining experience.
The Indoraptor stands out as a particularly menacing creature with its intimidating presence and deadly weapons. The Lockwood manor, with its intricate construction and varied chambers, serves as a captivating backdrop for the film's events.
The script, dialogue, and artistic screenplay all exhibit clever writing. The cinematography, particularly the scenes with roaring dinosaurs, leaves a lasting impression. Michael Giacchino's music score is both emotional and raucous, perfectly complementing the movie.
Each character, including Owen (Chris Pratt), possesses intelligence, strength, and heart. Owen's video showcases his bond with the raptors during their infancy. New characters like Zia (Daniella Pineda), a Paleo-vet and dino protection group member, Franklin (Justice Smith), a technician with a cautious personality but genuine love for dinosaurs, and Maisie (Isabella Sermon), a smart and compassionate legal ward following her parents' death, are all well-utilized supporting characters.
The film masterfully blends drama, horror, disaster, and thriller elements, resulting in a dynamic, powerful, and thematically resonant experience.
Highly recommended!May 9, 2024
📺 METV‼️Monster Hunter (2020)
(Action/Adventure)
Among video game adaptations, 'Rampage' (2018) stands out as an exceptional film with an innovative plot, captivating action, and memorable characters, particularly Dwayne Johnson's charismatic portrayal of Davis Okoye.
With 'Monster Hunter,' I initially harbored reservations, but the film proved to be a visually stunning masterpiece. The meticulous craftsmanship shines through in the intense execution, which delivers both horrifying shock value and exhilarating action sequences with visceral impact.
Glen MacPherson's stunning cinematography and Doobie White's dynamic editing seamlessly blend various techniques, including varied FPS (Frames Per Second) speeds, creative camera angles, and quick-cut transitions. The film's immersive storytelling transports viewers to a strange and dangerous 'new world,' creating a fast-paced and thrilling cinematic experience that emphasizes survival and teamwork.
'Monster Hunter' evokes the atmospheric intensity of Ridley Scott's 'Alien' and Eric Brevig's 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' through its striking production design and expansive real-world locations.
Director Paul W.S. Anderson's execution is remarkable, surpassing his previous adaptation of 'Mortal Kombat' (1995) in terms of overall quality and emotional depth, as evidenced by the characters' strong chemistry. The unintentional humor in the film is clever and witty without being condescending to the audience's intelligence.
Moreover, the delivery of the humor is so pleasant and genuine that it left me in stitches. The electronic score by Paul Haslinger is an epic, electrifying masterpiece that adds to the movie's ambitious and propulsive atmosphere.
Now, let's talk about the monsters. Each creature in this film is genuinely terrifying, with their imposing appearances, horrifying features, and relentless temperaments. From the monstrous Diablos to the creepy Nerscylla, and the most fearsome of them all, the dreaded Rathalos, these monsters are a sight to behold.
The characters are tough, skilled warriors who can hold their own in a fight. The cast's performances are top-notch, as they bring authenticity and genuine emotion to their roles. Natalie, the military Ranger played by Milla Jovovich, is a robust and compassionate leader who uses both her brains and brawn in combat.
Tony Jaa plays a fierce archery hunter with high-quality skills that match Natalie's, and he even has a tragic backstory involving the loss of his family. The banter between Natalie and the hunter is a delight to watch, as they develop a bond and use strategies and teamwork to defeat the monsters. Admiral, played by Rob Perlman, is the wise and collected leader of his crew, who helps Natalie and the hunter get home.
While the plot may be somewhat simple, 'Monster Hunter' is undoubtedly the most visually impressive and entertaining video game adaptation since 'Rampage.'
Highly recommended for teens aged 14 and up.May 7, 2024

(Action/Adventure)
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a thrilling cosmic adventure that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats throughout its entirety. The film never allows for a moment of boredom, delivering exhilarating action sequences, stunning space visuals, and exceptional character development.
The movie takes us on a deeper exploration of the Guardians' universe, with one of the most captivating storylines revolving around Rocket's past.

Rocket's journey is a rollercoaster of emotions, and Bradley Cooper's outstanding performance allows us to connect with his pain and triumphs on a profound level. In one particularly poignant moment, Rocket's relentless pursuit to save himself and obtain a key that holds the hope of releasing his friends leads him to a heartbreaking discovery.
The silent moments, juxtaposed with his tears of anguish, resonate with the audience, leaving many in tears alongside him.Adding to the excitement, Gamora returns to the fold, played brilliantly by Zoe Saldana. Her presence brings a fresh dynamic to the team, as her re-entry into the group forces the Guardians to confront their own history and grapple with the consequences of past choices. The interactions between Gamora and her fellow Guardians are filled with both humor and emotional intensity, deepening the connection between the characters and raising the stakes of their mission.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 also introduces us to new and intriguing characters. The inclusion of Adam Warlock, a fan-favorite from the comics, adds an exciting element to the story. His unique powers and enigmatic presence promise to play a significant role in the Guardians' future. Additionally, the film showcases the formidable villain known as the High Evolutionary, who brings a new level of threat and complexity to the narrative.
Visually, the movie is a feast for the eyes. The space scenes are breathtaking, filled with mesmerizing cosmic panoramas and creative alien landscapes. The meticulous attention to detail and the flawless integration of visual effects make the film a true spectacle that immerses you in the Guardians' universe.

📺 METV‼️Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
(Action/Adventure)
I have mixed feelings about this movie. Disney should have stopped producing Pirates of the Caribbean sequels after the third installment, which had potential but was stretched beyond its limits.
While the fourth movie retained Jack Sparrow and Barbossa, the inclusion of a female horologist felt forced and preachy, detracting from the plot. Elizabeth Swann was a more compelling female character because her growth was gradual and believable.
The female character in this movie was irritating, even to a feminist. There's a distinction between characters who are ahead of their time and those who seem anachronistic. The best aspect of the movie is the stripped-down story without the new characters.
Jack Sparrow and his crew are enjoyable to watch, but they are overshadowed by the modern feminist storyline and Turner subplot. The effects and designs are impressive.
The designs of Salazar and his crew are visually striking, with their frozen-in-death appearance and underwater movements. The design of the witch and the various locations evoke the aesthetic of previous movies. The scenes with the trident, starlight, and gemstone paths are visually appealing and add to the film's fantasy elements.
It seems the writers sought a new motivation for Barbossa's character in this film, and they collectively exclaimed, 'Daughter! She's his daughter! We are brilliant!'. Despite these criticisms, I don't outright dislike this movie. While I wouldn't classify it as good, I wouldn't say I dislike it either. I would categorize it as more of a guilty pleasure.
My favorites in the franchise remain the first two installments, which were exceptional films. Even the third installment retained some semblance of the pirate universe, though it felt somewhat stretched.
However, the story in this film feels particularly thin. If you're curious and simply desire some stunning effects, captivating designs, and witnessing your beloved pirates engage in swashbuckling escapades for a few hours, you'll find some satisfaction in this film.
However, if blatant feminist themes tend to irk you, I would advise avoiding this movie. I wholeheartedly support films that empower women as characters and provide them with opportunities to explore significant themes.
However, there are more graceful and subtle ways to convey these messages. Instead of a daughter, she could have been a student yearning to be acknowledged or an aspiring teacher. Alternatively, she could have been a dedicated stargazer eager to explore the seas and stars, leading her to join the pirates.
Unfortunately, she is portrayed as an arrogant and sarcastic character who constantly seeks the last word and proclaims her superiority. This trope has become tiresome and has been overused for decades.May 2, 2024
