Cross Domain Functionality (Phase One)
Previously, when using a BBS hosted on a different domain, users would need to create a new account entirely for each domain. This leads to several accounts created, with separate wallets for each account and no way to transfer BBS tokens from one domain to another within the BBS platform.
With Cross Domain functionality, ONE account can be used across every domain used with BBS - allowing users to more easily interact with other domains, better accountability across domains, and full interoperability between domains. Cross domain functionality will launch over multiple phases, in order to allow time for data migration.
To facilitate this, each account will have a symbol added to the end of their username, with the symbol being determined by which domain the account was created on. Since this is happening over phases there will - for a time - be parts of BBS that still show the previous display name. Once the final phase is complete, each section of BBS will show the new display name.
For example, accounts created on bbs.market will receive the @bbs symbol attached to the end of their username (metabbs@bbs). This framework is similar to the tried and true email domain system, with each handle having their local name along with their unique domain symbol.

Account Migration
Many current users already have accounts for different domains, and will be able to merge these accounts into a single account with a selectable domain.
Account merging will allow users to select one domain for their new displayname to ensure that the previous account balances and activity remain.
Account merging is based on your current connected social platforms and email. (i.e. if two accounts on different domains share the same linked Twitter/Google/Facebook account or email address, they will have the option to merge the accounts)
With this phased release, BBS owners can use their domain without burdening their users with another account, and all BBS users can enjoy the benefits of full domain interoperability!
