Hello BBSers!

We have a couple announcements for everyone today.

Notification System Update (Coming Soon)

In the next couple days, Version 4.0.3 will be released which will bring changes to the BBS notification system and some other platform changes.

When this update is released, the current notifications for each user will be cleared and begin again on the new system. This means that notifications received before the update will no longer be available. While this clear should not have a substantial impact, we'd like members to be aware and prepared for the update

The second official Content Contest from METABBS is here. METABBS has a very specific topic or purpose and it is indeed not always an easy one to discuss. METABBS aims to be a center point for all communications regarding BBS and a place to get a better understanding about it. METABBS is not the whole of the BBS Network, there are many other network participantsThis community event aims to promote healthy discussion and review of the BBS Network, and what better way to do so than to contrast it with its competition. Anyone can enter the event, partnered or not, through publishing a relevant post and also by commenting and creating meaningful discussion around the posts entered by the publishers.ENTERING WITH A POSTBBS is not the only proposed solution to Web 3 social media. There are many platforms out there today competing in the same space. To enter the community event, publishers have to create a post by selecting any one of the Web 3 social media, analyze it and compare it with BBS.Example for some points to be considered :The goal is not just to be descriptive about the other platform, but also to draw direct comparison with BBS. Make it an honest comparison and not a sugar coated one. Include positives & negatives. An example for a general direction is given below :This is not a template to follow and everyone is expected to bring in their own style to their posts and there is no requirement for the post to be a very long one. Posts can be a full overview of the project, or just a comparison of select features. These are some examples and there are many more. So to enter via publishing a post :ENTERING BY COMMENTSIn order to include all post participants, it is also possible to enter the event through comments, all you have to do is wait for the publishers to publish their entries for the competition and comment under them to bring meaningful discussions to the topic. Just commenting will not be enough if it doesn’t make way for useful discussion there. REWARD DISTRIBUTIONSELECTION CRITERIATOP POSTSThe three top posts will be selected on the basis of the following criteria :Video submissions are also welcomed, but having a text summary along with it is advised to not cause any confusion. There is no extra consideration for the length of the post. A smaller post with clear content will trump a long post with hazy content. No need to buff the post with unnecessary contents.TOP COMMENTSThe top comments will be selected on the basis of the following criteria :Number of likes and replies to a comment is only a secondary criteria. Multiple comments from a user will be rewarded if the prize pool is not completely claimed by unique users.LUCKY DRAWThe posts included in the draw pool will be : The draw will be completely random and the selection will remain unchallenged. In this Community Event we are looking forward to including all the contributors in METABBS to have a chance at participating and have fun.
