Drivers Who Call Silverstone Home
Many teams and drivers call Britain home, and that combined with the long history Silverstone has in F1 makes the British Grand Prix great to watch. Lando Norris celebrates his home race in a special way with the “Lando Stand.” Located at Stowe corner, the Lando Stand is a fun way to support the World Champion at the track.
Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Oliver Bearman, and Arvid Lindblad also celebrate their home race at Silverstone. While they don’t have their own dedicated stands, they often commemorate the weekend with special helmets. Alex Albon also celebrates a home race in Britain, as he was born there, but he races under the Thai flag to honor his heritage.
Along with the drivers, many of the team's headquarters are based in England. Aston Martin, Williams, and McLaren are all proudly British and celebrate the weekend. Cadillac, Mercedes, Red Bull, Haas, and Alpine all operate in the UK, but are licensed in other countries, so not all of the teams acknowledge this weekend as a home race. Many of these teams will display a special livery, like Williams or Cadillac, the latter celebrating July 4th rather than the British Grand Prix.
