Bernd Wiesberger erased Adrian Otaegui’s lead in Shanghai to win his ninth DP World Tour title, ending a 1,792-day drought.
Bernd Wiesberger finally found his way back to the winner’s circle Sunday, and he had to earn every bit of it.
The Austrian rallied past Adrian Otaegui in the final round at Shanghai Enhance Anting Golf Club, closing out a three-shot victory at 19-under to claim his ninth DP World Tour title.

It was Wiesberger’s first win in 1,792 days, ending a frustrating stretch that made the moment even more emotional.
Wiesberger entered the day one shot behind Otaegui, but the tournament appeared to be slipping away by the turn.
Otaegui moved to 19-under and held a three-shot lead after a strong front nine that included a birdie from more than 20 feet at No. 8.
Then everything changed.
Wiesberger sparked his comeback with a chip-in birdie at the par-5 10th after getting out of position. Otaegui answered with a close-range birdie at No. 11, but Wiesberger kept applying pressure, making a 25-foot birdie putt to stay within striking distance.
Otaegui made his first bogey of the round at No. 12, and Wiesberger pulled even with another long birdie at No. 13. The decisive moment came at the par-3 16th, where Otaegui found a greenside bunker and failed to save par.
Wiesberger took the lead from there, then played smart down the stretch. Otaegui’s trouble at the 18th led to a double bogey, while Wiesberger calmly two-putted for par to finish the job.
Mikael Lindberg finished third at 14-under after a final-round 67, while Shaun Norris took fourth at 13-under. Freddy Schott fired Sunday’s best round, a 64, to finish fifth.
For Wiesberger, the win doesn’t just end a drought. It also puts him back into key Rolex Series events and changes the outlook of his next few seasons.
