Bryson DeChambeau says he’s ready to lean into YouTube, global events and golf’s creator economy if LIV Golf can’t survive past 2026.
Bryson DeChambeau may be the one LIV Golf star built for chaos.
With LIV Golf facing a suddenly uncertain future after Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund reportedly ended future funding, DeChambeau isn’t exactly sounding panicked.
The former SMU standout, major champion and one of golf’s most-watched personalities already has another lane waiting: YouTube.
And not just as a side hustle.
“I think, from my perspective, I’d love to grow my YouTube channel three times, maybe even more,” DeChambeau said Tuesday while preparing at Trump National Golf Club.
That’s a pretty strong fallback plan when your channel already sits near 2.7 million subscribers and regularly features names like Kevin Hart, Paige Spiranac and President Donald Trump.
While other LIV golfers may be staring at an uncertain tournament schedule, DeChambeau has built a direct pipeline to fans that doesn’t need a tour logo to matter.
His LIV contract expires after this season, and a PGA Tour return could come with major penalties. DeChambeau also hasn’t sounded desperate to sprint back. Back in January, he said he “has a contract” with LIV and wanted to see what this season could become.
So what happens now? DeChambeau still believes LIV’s leadership can build a business plan strong enough to attract new money.
A PGA Tour-LIV Golf agreement could also still enter the conversation, but that won’t happen without compromise.
“I think it requires a little bit of everybody kind of just lowering their guards and all coming together and going, ‘OK, what’s best for the game of golf?’”
After missing the cut at the Masters following an opening 80, DeChambeau’s competitive year has been rocky. But his brand? That might be stronger than ever.
