Cameron Young took home the 2026 Cadillac Championship crown, but some fans were upset about the coverage of the tournament.
The 2026 Cadillac Championship wrapped up on Sunday, with Cameron Young going 19-under-par and earning a six-shot victory over No. 1 Scottie Scheffler at Doral.
While the tournament was an exciting return to the venue, some fans expressed outrage over the coverage of the event by the Golf Channel.
One of the biggest issues was their ability to watch the featured golfers at the tournament, as the broadcast did not tune into Doral until around noon on Saturday although some golfers began their rounds as early as 7:50 a.m.
This delay caused eager fans to miss the rounds by Patrick Rodgers, Sungjae Im, Shane Lowry and Jason Day. It even affected eventual-winner Young, who was midway through his day when coverage finally got started.
It is not the first time this year that a network's coverage has come under fire. CBS drew ire from fans and pundits alike during the Masters. The criticism stemmed from the broadcast yet again missing key golfers and their big moments.
For CBS, it has the excuse that its time slots dedicated to golf coverage are limited and the Masters debacle seemed less widespread than the outrage during Cadillac Championship.
Golf Channel's latest antics drew out fans all across social media that were not shy about their feelings toward the channel, which is operated by NBC.
"PGA TOUR AND GOLF CHANNEL COVERAGE IS FN CRAP," wrote one disgruntled fan. Another chimed in, "Golf Channel is legitimately a f–ing joke."
It is easy to see why fans are so upset. NBC promoted the tournament and fans awaiting to tune into the entire coverage on a channel quite literally dedicated to nothing but golf were treated to the same type of content they would get on a mainstream network.
And some fans even preferred the alternative broadcast, with one fan giving CBS credit for its coverage of the final round on Sunday. "It is startling how much better CBS is than Golf Channel," they wrote.

It seems that many diehard fans are at their wit's ends when it comes to supporting the channel that theoretically should be their most-watched because of odd decision making from the higher-ups at NBC.
While no network is going to please everyone, evident by the backlash directed at CBS during the Masters, the Golf Channel appears to be headed in the wrong direction and could completely lose the attention of the market it was designed to bring in.
