Nelly Korda won her second Chevron Championship by five shots, returned to world No. 1 and moved closer to the LPGA Hall of Fame.
Nelly Korda is back on top of women’s golf, and she’s closing in on something even bigger.
Korda won the 2026 Chevron Championship on Sunday in Houston, claiming her second title at the major and her second LPGA Tour victory of the season.

The 27-year-old American finished five shots clear of Patty Tavatanakit and Ruoning Yin, adding another dominant chapter to her already historic resume.
The win also moves Korda back to No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. It will be her 109th career week in the top spot, tying her with Yani Tseng.
Korda’s start to 2026 has been ridiculous. In five starts, only two players have beaten her.
She opened the season with a win at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, finished runner-up to Hyo Joo Kim at both the Founders Cup and Ford Championship, tied for second at the Aramco Championship behind Lauren Coughlin, then controlled the Chevron from start to finish.
Her wire-to-wire victory was historic.
Korda became the first player since Amy Alcott in 1991 to win a major after holding a multi-shot lead after every round.
Her five-shot margin was also the largest by a wire-to-wire major winner since Tseng’s 10-shot runaway at the 2011 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
The Chevron title gives Korda her third career major before turning 28, making her the seventh American to reach that mark. She also joins Minjee Lee as one of only two players in the 2020s with three major wins.
The Hall of Fame chase is now very real. Korda earned two LPGA Hall of Fame points with the victory, bringing her total to 22. She needs 27 to qualify automatically.
Only five points remain. At this pace, Korda isn’t just winning tournaments. She’s racing toward immortality.
