Peter Uihlein’s DP World Tour Q-School bid ended abruptly after the LIV Golf veteran missed his third-round tee time and was disqualified.
Peter Uihlein’s attempt to build a possible path back to the DP World Tour ended in one of the strangest ways possible: he simply didn’t show up for his tee time.
The 37-year-old LIV Golf veteran was disqualified Friday from the opening stage of DP World Tour Q-School at Huddersfield Golf Club in West Yorkshire, England, after failing to appear for his scheduled third round.
Uihlein had opened with rounds of 74 and 73, leaving him seven-over par and tied for 66th. Only the top 19 players and ties were scheduled to advance.
That means Uihlein already faced a serious climb. Instead, the comeback attempt never got another shot.
The timing makes the situation more interesting.
Uihlein has played for LIV Golf since 2022 and is currently a member of Bubba Watson’s RangeGoats GC.
He started the 2026 LIV season with consecutive third-place finishes in Riyadh and Adelaide, but his Q-School appearance came as several LIV players explore alternatives amid major uncertainty surrounding the league’s future.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund informed LIV earlier this year that it planned to end its financial backing after the 2026 season.
LIV has since been cutting staff and pursuing outside investment while attempting to reshape the operation for 2027.
So Uihlein showing up at Q-School wasn’t exactly a meaningless side trip.
He was one of several LIV golfers attempting to create another competitive route, joining fellow league players Luis Masaveu and Josele Ballester at Huddersfield. Michael La Sasso and Yosuke Asaji also entered other DP World Tour qualifying sites.
For Uihlein, though, the door closed quickly.
There has been no widely reported public explanation yet for why he missed the tee time. That distinction matters.
A withdrawal is routine in professional golf. A disqualification for failing to appear is something else entirely, and without an explanation, speculation is inevitable.
Uihlein has extensive experience outside LIV. He’s a former DP World Tour winner and made more than $4 million during his PGA Tour career before joining LIV.
For a player potentially searching for options beyond LIV Golf, this was an opportunity he could hardly afford to waste.
Instead, his Q-School run ended without him ever hitting a third-round shot.
