Stewart Cink arrives at the Insperity Invitational riding major momentum as PGA TOUR Champions stars battle in Houston this weekend.
Stewart Cink is turning the PGA TOUR Champions season into his personal showcase.
Fresh off his dramatic victory at the Regions Tradition, Cink heads to The Woodlands this week looking to keep his scorching run alive at the Insperity Invitational near Houston.
The defending champion has already captured four victories in just eight Champions Tour events this season and enters the week atop the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
That kind of dominance has quickly made the 2026 season feel like the Stewart Cink era.
The former Open Championship winner survived a playoff at last year’s Insperity Invitational, knocking off Retief Goosen with a birdie on the first extra hole after the pair battled through 54 holes tied atop the leaderboard.
Now, Cink returns to The Woodlands Country Club carrying even more momentum after adding another major title to his growing Champions Tour résumé.
The 78-player field is loaded with golf royalty.
World Golf Hall of Famers Bernhard Langer, Padraig Harrington, Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, Colin Montgomerie and Goosen all arrive in Texas looking to stop Cink’s latest surge.
Langer remains one of the event’s most decorated players, winning the tournament four times while also holding the event scoring records, including a blistering 191 total during his dominant 2007 performance.
Montgomerie enters after a strong third-place finish at the Regions Tradition, while Harrington and Els continue chasing consistency in one of the deepest PGA TOUR Champions fields of the season.
The Woodlands Country Club, a par-72 layout stretching 7,002 yards, has traditionally rewarded aggressive scoring and veteran course management. With firm conditions expected and several major champions in strong form, another low-scoring weekend could be on deck.
Still, all eyes remain on Cink.
At 52, he’s playing some of the best golf of his career and showing no signs of slowing down. Another victory this weekend would further cement his position as the player everyone else on the PGA TOUR Champions circuit is currently chasing.
