Stewart Cink surged to his first senior major title with a brilliant final-round 63, winning the Senior PGA Championship by six shots in Bradenton.
Stewart Cink turned the final round of the Senior PGA Championship into a runaway on Sunday, firing a dazzling 9-under 63 to claim his first senior major title at Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida.
The win was also Cink’s third victory of the season on the PGA TOUR Champions, further cementing his red-hot start on the 50-and-over circuit.
Cink began the day just one shot off the lead, but he flipped the tournament in a hurry with a blistering stretch that left the rest of the field scrambling to keep up.
The former Open Championship winner caught fire around the turn, mixing power and precision to pile up birdies and an eagle as he seized complete control.
The biggest push came when Cink played a five-hole stretch in 5-under par, a surge that effectively broke the championship open.
From there, he never let up. He added more birdies on the back nine and kept the pressure on until the outcome was no longer in doubt.
Cink finished the week at 19-under 269, just one shot shy of the tournament’s record to par. Even more impressive, he still hasn’t posted an over-par round through his first 16 rounds on the PGA TOUR Champions.
That consistency has helped produce three wins, a runner-up finish and no result worse than a tie for sixth this season.
Ben Crane closed with a 68 to finish solo second in an impressive debut at the Senior PGA Championship.

Keith Horne, who entered Sunday with the lead, slipped back after a costly double bogey on the back nine. Australians Scott Hend and Steve Allan shared third after rounds of 71.
For Cink, this wasn’t just another win. It was a statement that he’s quickly become one of the most dangerous players on the senior circuit.
