Medical Updates on Langeliers, Leiter Post Surgery
The following is a press release from the Athletics. The most interesting nugget here is that they say Leiter is out for the season, but say Langeliers has no timetable for a return, despite manager Mark Kotsay saying that he would miss the rest of the year in his pregame scrum on Monday.
Catcher Shea Langeliers underwent successful right knee surgery today with Dr. Mike Banffy at the Cedar Sinai Orthopedic Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Dr. Banffy performed a medial meniscectomy as well as a PRP injection. Langeliers will return to Sacramento tomorrow to begin rehabilitation. There is no timetable for his return.
Right-handed pitcher Mark Leiter Jr. underwent successful right hip surgery today with Dr. Mike Banffy at the Cedar Sinai Orthopedic Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
