After getting to Game 7 of the World Series in 2025, the Jays will start their 2026 quest on Feb. 21.

The Toronto Blue Jays, fresh off a heartbreaking loss in Game 7 of the World Series, have officially released their spring training schedule for 2026.

The team will open up the Dunedin, Fla. slate on Feb. 21 with a Grapefruit League contest against the Philadelphia Phillies.

    About the schedule

In total, the Jays will play 29 games next spring, with 15 of them being at home in Dunedin. They will play 14 road contests, including two of the final three before heading back north for Opening Day.

    Dates to highlight

Feb. 21 - the Grapefruit League opener against the Phillies (home)

Feb. 24 - the first matchup of the spring against the New York Yankees. It's one of four matchups with the Yankees next spring.

March 3 - A contest against the Canadian World Baseball Classic team. That game should generate significant fan interest given the presence of the two Canadian teams.

March 21 - the day of the 'Spring Breakout' game in which the Blue Jays' top prospects will play against the top prospects from the Phillies.

Thing to know about this spring

The World Baseball Classic is happening from March 1-17. That means that multiple Blue Jays players or prospects could be away from the team in that time.

While rosters are not officially set, it's certainly possible that Alejandro Kirk (Mexico), Jose Berrios (Mexico), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Dominican Republic) could all play in the tournament. It's also possible that Anthony Santander could represent Venezuela, as could Andres Gimenez. If Bo Bichette is still on the roster, he could play for Brazil.

It would make sense if Team USA at least inquired about Kevin Gausman's interest as well.

Questions before the Blue Jays arrive

Before getting back to Florida, the Jays need to figure out what's happening with Bichette. A free agent this offseason, he's projected to get in the neighborhood of $200 million. Also, the Jays need a fifth starter, even after bringing back Shane Bieber on Tuesday.

And every one can use bullpen help, especially with Seranthony Dominguez a free agent as well.
