It's been one week since the Toronto Blue Jays lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7 of the World Series at Rogers Centre. Had Toronto won, it would have been the first World Series title for the organization since 1993, but instead, the Dodgers became the first team to repeat as champions since the New York Yankees in 1998-00.
And though the loss was heartbreaking and the wound is still fresh for fans and players alike, this World Series had a historic nature to it.
For instance, ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney recently told our sister Seattle Mariners site and the 'Refuse to Lose' podcast that he thinks this World Series was the greatest one our lifetimes.
"Best one I've ever seen. I think it's the best one anybody's ever seen. Game 7 was incredible. I think that will go down in history as the greatest game ever played. Certainly 1991, Game 7, 1975, Red Sox and Reds, Game 6, Game 6 in 2011, but for a Game 7 to have that many twists and turns, and the star power, and the way guys on both teams were all-in on trying to win and get across the finish line? It was spectacular."
Unfortunately, that doesn't do much for anyone right now, but as time goes on and the sting fades away, there will likely be an appreciation from Jays fans and players at having been a part of such a memorable moment in baseball history.
But for now? The Jays and the front office will continue to go about the business of trying to get back to the Fall Classic next season. There are plenty of questions to answer in order to make that a reality, like who will the fifth starter be next season? And will Toronto add any significant bullpen help? And most importantly, will Bo Bichette be back in the fold considering he was one of the top free agents on the market?

The general manager's meetings take place next week from Nov. 11-13, and that's where we could begin to see some significant groundwork laid for meaningful deals this offseason. The winter meetings are Dec. 7-10, and that's typically where big deals actually occur.
For instance, Max Fried, Juan Soto and Willy Adames all agreed to terms during the winter meetings in 2024.
The Blue Jays will report to spring training in Dunedin, Fl. in mid-February.
