Jesse Hahn appeared in the big leagues with the Seattle Mariners in 2025.

The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they've come to terms with veteran right-hander Jesse Hahn on Saturday morning.

It's a minor league deal and Hahn will report to spring training.

Now 36 years old, Hahn was a sixth round pick of the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010 out of Virginia Tech. He's spent parts of eight years in the big leagues with the San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners, going 19-22 overall with a 4.24 ERA.

He's had a road filled with perseverance, as he was not in the big leagues in 2018 and didn't appear in a big league game from 2022-24 either.

He made three appearances with Seattle in 2025, going 0-1. He made 35 appearances for the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers, going 0-2 with a 5.85 ERA as well. It should be noted that the Pacific Coast League is extremely hitter-friendly.

What's his outlook with the Blue Jays?

In all honesty, it seems likely that Hahn is just minor league depth. If he doesn't want to do that at his age, the hope is that he'll show enough in spring training to warrant someone else giving him an opportunity after spring concludes.

However, because of recent injury developments, there is more opportunity with the Jays than originally thought. The team has openings for at least two relievers, and potentially a third if Yimi Garcia isn't healthy by opening day.

Hahn's best year was in 2014 when he went 7-4 with a 3.07 ERA for the Padres. He also had a 0.52 ERA in 18 appearances during the COVID-shortened 2020 season for Kansas City.
