Logan Henderson’s one-hit masterpiece and a relentless 14-hit offensive barrage propelled the Milwaukee Brewers past the Texas Rangers.
The Milwaukee Brewers cruised their way to a 6-1 victory in the beginning of a three-game slate at American Family Field against the Texas Rangers.
Logan Henderson improved to 9-2 on the year in what was easily his most impressive performance of the season.
The 24-year-old was able to reach seven innings for the second time and, similar to what he did back on Aug. 16, allowed just one earned run, but this time, only allowed one hit.
Danny Jansen took Henderson deep for his fifth home run of the year, but other than that, he struck out seven batters without allowing a single walk.
Brewers pitching staff remains untouchable
It's hard to imagine a starting rotation in the postseason that's more dangerous than what the Brewers have to offer.
Not only are their stars continuing to impress in a big way, but Aaron Ashby picked up his 13th hold, and DL Hall slammed the door in the ninth. Together, those two relievers combined for five strikeouts with one walk and one hit in two innings of work.
This Brewers bullpen is in fantastic shape, despite being in the midst of a 16-game-in-16-day stretch.
Henderson is at the forefront of that, and while a ton of the talk has been around Jacob Misiorowski and Kyle Harrison, the Brewers have yet another superstar on their hands, once again proving why they made the right decision not to trade him for Tarik Skubal.
Fourteen-hit night for the Brewers
The Brewers brought a hit parade in their return to Milwaukee as everyone other than Garrett Mitchell and Andrew Vaughn recorded a hit on the night.
For what it's worth, Vaughn pinch-hit for Mitchell, so he only had one chance to extend his 10-game hitting streak.
Regardless, it was a three-RBI night for William Contreras as he's up to 69 RBIs on the year.
Christian Yelich joined the party with his 47th RBI, and both Jackson Chourio and David Hamilton also finished with one RBI each.
Most impressively, the Brewers drew four walks and only struck out twice all game.
They may have left 11 runners in scoring position, but this was a comfortable five-run win for the team with the best record in all of baseball, and they had four timely hits with runners in scoring position, something that eluded them during a recent two-game losing streak.
