After dismantling the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2, the Milwaukee Brewers head to LA poised to avenge last year’s sweep and match a historic postseason feat.

In Major League Baseball history, there has only been one team that beat a team in the playoffs the year after they were swept by them in the postseason.

One would have to go back to the 1923 New York Yankees to find that exact same scenario, but here in 2026, the Milwaukee Brewers are two games away from doing so.

Brewers Daily's David Gasper made note of the Yankees' accomplishment and how it's something that hasn't been done in 103 years.

After taking Game 2 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Brewers know they have a chance to win this series when it shifts to the West Coast. But even if they were to get swept, they'll still have a chance to punch their ticket to the World Series back in Milwaukee.

Winning at least one game at Dodger Stadium would mean everything, though obviously the sooner they win the National League Championship Series, the better. It will give them extra rest heading into what would be their second-ever World Series appearance.

Brewers can't get too far ahead of themselves

Game 2 was extremely interesting as the Dodgers scored four runs on only three hits. Logan Henderson committed a pair of throwing errors that led to him having two unearned runs. Though it's not hard to argue that he should've been credited with four earned runs for the first time in his career.

Regardless, the Brewers bullpen continued to live up to the hype as they threw five perfect innings for the first time in MLB history.

This Brewers team continues smashing records left and right, and should they survive the Dodgers, it would be a statement victory after LA ran through them in four games a year ago.

Series shifts to Los Angeles

MLB operates under a 2-3-2 format for these best-of-seven series. As the home team, Milwaukee hosts Games 1 and 2, along with potentially Games 6 and 7, if necessary.

From Oct. 14-16, these teams could play three straight games at Dodger Stadium.

Remember, the Brewers took three of four from the Dodgers in LA, in the middle of August.

This is a Dodgers team that looks like a shell of itself, and they may have no choice but to bench Shohei Ohtani, as he is clearly dealing with something that's preventing him from making any sort of impact at the plate.

Each team has Tuesday, Oct. 13, off, before Game 3 is played in California on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
