With Jason Misiorowski and Co., the Milwaukee Brewers land at the No. 8 spot in MLB pitching staff's list.

The Milwaukee Brewers are just five days away from Opening Day (as of Saturday, March 21) and their pitching staff looks pretty decent.

Now, Brewers fans (and players, too) know that Freddy Peralta is long gone. Therefore, another starting pitcher will have to step up and become the staff ace.

Looking at who is in the starting rotation, Brewers manager Pat Murphy will send out Brandon Woodruff, Chad Patrick, Jacob Misiorowski, Quinn Priester, and Kyle Harrison. As for the bullpen, the Brewers are looking for contributions from Abner Uribe, Trevor Megill, Angel Zerpa, Jared Koenig, and Aaron Ashby.

With all of these pitchers lined up to see some work this season, where does the Brewers' pitching staff rank among all 30 MLB teams?

According to a new article from MLB.com reporter Anthony Castrovince, he's putting Milwaukee in the No. 8 spot among the top 10 MLB pitching staffs.

"When assessing the Brewers’ pitching staff, we must weigh the departure of staff ace Freddy Peralta in trade against the knowledge that, no matter who departs this team, it always seems to find a way to keep opponents from crossing home plate," Castrovince wrote.

"Though Woodruff dealt with a lat issue and Priester a wrist issue in camp, they still can front what ought to be a strong rotation, even without Peralta," Castrovince continued.

"You’ve got the Miz Kid, Misiorowski, entering his first full season, and young Logan Henderson is widely touted as a breakout candidate," Castrovince wrote. "The bullpen, which was one of the best in MLB last year and has added groundball machine Zerpa, projects as top-five unit going into 2026."

Castrovince added that in looking at a pitching staff and its effectiveness, it's better to see things in the context of a collective whole ballclub develops quality pitching either internally or sees it from an external standpoint. He also mentioned that the Brewers have some elite defenders in the field that will back up the Milwaukee starters.

The Brewers will open the 2026 MLB season at American Family Field with a series against the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox have named Shane Smith as their Opening Day starter, and Brewers manager Pat Murphy will give Misiorowski the ball for the opener.

First pitch is at 2:10 p.m. ET in Milwaukee.
