As the Milwaukee Brewers tune things up ahead of the 2026 MLB season, starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski is gaining some attention.
That's not new for Misiorowski, who has had eyeballs on him and his efforts on the mound. There's a distinct possibility, though, that Misiorowski is the missing piece to help the Brewers take an even bigger step this season.
But he's going to have to stay focused and intentional in his deliver and pitching arsenal for Brewers manager Pat Murphy and his teammates.
Recently, ESPN MLB Insider Jeff Passan offered a complete overview of key things he's predicting for all 30 MLB clubs. In his review of the Brewers for ESPN.com, Passan spent time showing what he's looking to see from Misiorowski.
Passan even makes the point that Misiorowski might join a couple of young fireballers in making headlines this season, too. Passan points to Detroit Tigers star Tarik Skubal and Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes as comparisons.
"If everything goes right, Misiorowski is one of the few pitchers who can say he has the ability to be as good as Skubal and Skenes," Passan wrote.
"For all of the hype that accompanied Misiorowski's debut and first three starts -- remember the All-Star Game kerfuffle? -- his first big league season was hit-or-miss," Passan continued. "He finished with a 4.36 ERA. He walked too many. He didn't get enough flyballs.
"But this is all nitpicking," Passan continued. "Nobody in baseball has Misiorowski's arm talent. Once he really learns to harness it -- maybe this year, maybe next year, maybe never -- the true Misiorowski experience will reveal itself."
Passan also added that it might take some time for Misiorowski to put everything together.
While giving Misiorowski some flowers, Passan also predicted that Brice Turang just might have a 30/30 season for the Brew Crew.
"This ... is a stretch," Passan wrote in regard to Turang. "There's no denying Turang is a great player. His defense at second base is excellent, even if the publicly available models flip-flop on it year-over-year. He has real pop. He has wheels.
"He can really play," Passan continued. "But 30 home runs? After he hit a career-best 18 last year, which exceeded his previous career high by 11? More than anything, it's bet on a player who has done nothing but get better."
Obviously, the Brewers want to go beyond the National League Championship Series in 2026. Misiorowski and Turang must play big roles for that to become a reality.
