Expectations for Three Milwaukee Brewers Starters in 2026 cover image

With Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers no longer on the team, the Milwaukee Brewers will need other pitchers to step up. Below are the expectations for three of those arms.

The Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff will look different in 2026 without Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers, so it is worth understanding the expectations for those who will take the mound for the Brewers next season.

With previews for Brandon Woodruff, Jacob Misiorowski and newcomers Angel Zerpa and Brandon Sproat out of the way, we will evaluate what the upcoming season could, and should, look like for Quinn Priester, Logan Henderson, and Robert Gasser.

Quinn Priester, RHP: Priester was drafted with the 18th pick in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. After making his MLB Debut with Pittsburgh on July 17, 2023, Priester would make 13 more starts with the Pirates across 2023 and part of the 2024 season before the organization dealt him to the Boston Red Sox in a July 29, 2024 trade.

Priester’s tenure in Boston was brief, and the club would end up trading him to the Brewers nine months later. In 2025, Priester found great success as he produced a 13-3 record with a 3.32 ERA through 157.1 innings pitched.

Priester presents an arsenal made up of five pitches: A sinker, a slider, a cutter, a curve and a changeup. The sinker is what the 25-year-old goes to the most, utilizing it 42% of the time, according to Baseball Savant.

After such a breakout season, the expectation is that Priester’s arm will reach another level after a full offseason with Milwaukee and a fourth season of Major League Baseball under his belt.

Logan Henderson, RHP: Henderson is a product of the Brewers’ farm system after the organization selected him with the 116th pick in the fourth round of the 2021 MLB Draft.

The 23-year-old product of McLennan Community College made his MLB Debut on April 20. By the end of the 2025 regular season, Henderson had made five starts for the Brewers and notched a 3-0 record with a 1.78 ERA and 0.99 WHIP.

While it is just a small sample size, Henderson delivered very encouraging results. He relies on a four-pitch profile that is headlined by a four-seam fastball. Like Priester, the expectation is that Henderson will continue to develop into a reliable starter.

Robert Gasser, LHP: Gasser began his career with the San Diego Padres after the latter selected him with the 71st pick of the Competitive Balance-B round of the 2021 MLB Draft. On Aug. 1, 2022, Gasser made his way to the Brewers via trade.

Gasser worked his way through Triple-A Nashville during the 2023 season before making his MLB Debut on May 10. 2024. However, underwent Tommy John surgery in July of that year which ended his season.

Gasser made his return to the Brewers’ rotation on Sept. 21 for one of his two starts in 2025. He went 0-2 and finished the season with a 3.18 ERA.

Much like Brandon Woodruff, the expectation for Gasser is availability in 2026 after illustrating potential before Tommy John surgery.
