The Milwaukee Brewers' five-game winning streak has been snapped.
All good things must come to an end, and the Cincinnati Reds were able to take care of business in the series finale, 4-3.
A pair of home runs kept the Brewers in business, but the Reds were able to score a few late runs to push to secure their 70th victory of the year.
Milwaukee now falls to 93-57, though it's yet another series victory under their belt. The Brewers enjoy Monday, Sept. 14, off before entering a 10-day, nine-game road trip.
Joey Ortiz and Jake Bauers hit homers
Joey Ortiz got the party started with a two-run blast in the second inning. It was officially his ninth home run of the season, and it was quite impressive to see him be able to do that against Chase Burns.
Fast forward to the bottom of the seventh, Jake Bauers crushed a solo shot that tied this game at three runs a piece. Sadly for the Brewers, they wouldn't ever be able to retake the lead in this one.
Bauers, who is up to 26 home runs here in 2026, gave the team a late spark, but it should be noted how few baserunners the Brewers had throughout this game.
By the end, they left just three runners on base and were 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position.
Antonio Senzatela wastes Robert Gasser's start
Robert Gasser looked tremendous as he allowed just one earned run in five innings of work. He used to be the team's sixth starter, but it's clear he has a huge role moving forward with the recent struggles of Kyle Harrison.
Gasser was pulled in the sixth inning after giving up a single to Elly De La Cruz. Antonio Senzatela allowed a single and then a three-run homer, which saw the Brewers' 2-0 lead vanish in an instant.
Senzatela was pulled after facing the minimum, and the rest was history.
Abner Uribe hasn't been at his best
Bauers' homer made sure Senzatela didn't take the loss, so instead it was Abner Uribe wearing this one. Uribe's name was called upon in the eighth inning, but De La Cruz would score again as his leadoff single later turned into a sacrifice fly to bring him home.
Uribe is now 5-3 this season, but he's allowed two earned runs in his last three starts, which is a bit concerning, though the team can only ask so much from him so soon after his return from injury.
