Jurrangelo Cijntje starting to get on solid stretch in Cardinals minor leagues

Switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje had a rough start to his tenure with the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

In his first year with the Cardinals after being acquired in a trade that sent 2025 All-Star infielder Brendan Donovan to the Seattle Mariners, Cijntje had an ERA above 5.00 in April and May.

From April 9-May 16, Cijntje had allowed at least three earned runs in six-of-seven starts. 

Since that point, Cijntje has allowed less than three earned runs in three-of-four starts. In his latest outing June 11, the ambidextrous starter struck out six, walked one and allowed two earned runs on five hits in 4.1 innings pitched. He fanned batters both right and left-handed.
