With the World Series behind us, it's time for the awards season to begin in major-league baseball. It started on Sunday with the Gold Gloves Awards, honoring the best defensive players at their position in both leagues.

The Chicago Cubs led the way with three winners, second baseman Nico Hoerner, left fielder Ian Happ and center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong. Three other teams — the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals and San Francisco Giants — had two each.

“[I’m] proud of the ability to be available so much… you don’t win this award unless you’re on the field a ton,” Hoerner told Marquee Sports Network following his Gold Glove win.

Here's the story on the Cubs' three winners from Cubs Roundtable baseball writer Joey Pollizze.
