After wrapping up series with New York Mets, Arizona Diamondbacks still have two series to go before coming home.

Being on the road can make a player's heart yearn for getting back into familiar territory. For the Arizona Diamondbacks, that's Chase Field in Phoenix.

But the Diamondbacks are still going to be on the road for a little bit. On Thursday, they'll finish up a three-game series at Citi Field against the New York Mets.

Then, the team moves on to Philadelphia for a three-game weekend series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies are always a tough team to face, especially with the likes of Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber in the lineup.

Even after playing in Philadelphia, though, the Diamondbacks remain on the road for one more series at this time. They'll go to Baltimore, where they'll go up against the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

When, oh when, will the Diamondbacks get home? That happens on Friday, April 17, when the D-backs welcome the Toronto Blue Jays to Chase Field. That'll be a three-game series. After having Monday, April 20, off, Arizona will host the Chicago White Sox for a three-game series.

Then, the schedule gets a little bit weird. Arizona will have a very rare Friday night off and will play the San Diego Padres in a two-game series on Saturday and Sunday.

It's not going to be an easy stretch for the Diamondbacks. But maybe they can get some momentum going on this current road trip, then bring that good energy back home.

Injury Report Updates

While the Diamondbacks keep on progressing through their 2026 MLB schedule, some players have been working to get back from the Injured List.

Pitcher Merrill Kelly has been dealing with an intercostal nerve irritation issue. He's been on the 15-day IL retroactive to March 24. But Kelly is due back in a few days. He recently threw five shutout innings at Triple-A Reno back on April 3. Kelly will get another start in extended Spring Training.

First baseman/designated hitter Pavin Smith is due back around mid-April. Smith has been out with left elbow inflammation. The elbow issues affected Smith during Spring Training.

Outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has been working his way back into shape after undergoing ACL surgery in September 2025. He's due back either in late April or early May. Gurriel reportedly has been playing in simulated games and also doing light work while running out of the batter's box.

Don't expect outfielder Jordan Lawlar to be back with the team until June. He was put on the 60-day IL back on April 3 after getting hit by a pitch on April 2. While X-rays proved to be negative, an MRI revealed that Lawlar had suffered a right wrist fracture.

If the Diamondbacks can get some of these players back soon, then it'll be interesting to see how much they will be able to contribute this season.
