Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Cristofer Torin capped an impressive August with another standout week at the plate.
Cristofer Torin has been one of the hottest hitters in the minor leagues throughout August, and the Arizona Diamondbacks prospect added another accomplishment to his impressive month.
Torin was named to the Prospect Team of the Week for Aug. 24-30 after producing one of the strongest offensive performances among minor-league prospects during the week. The 21-year-old shortstop went 10-for-27 across six games, recording three home runs, a double, seven RBIs, and nine runs scored.
He also reached base three times via walks and struck out just four times while stealing a base.
The strong week continued what has been a remarkable stretch for Torin. He collected 36 hits during August, placing him among the minor-league leaders for the month. His production has been particularly impressive toward the end of the month, as he recorded multiple hits in seven of his previous nine games entering the final stretch.
Torin also hit three home runs across a four-game span, providing another glimpse of the offensive impact he can bring to the Diamondbacks organization.
The Venezuela native has developed a reputation for consistently making contact and putting pressure on opposing pitchers. His ability to limit strikeouts has been one of the most notable parts of his offensive profile, allowing him to consistently put the ball in play and create opportunities for himself and his team.
That approach has been evident throughout his professional career and has helped Torin emerge as an intriguing prospect within the Diamondbacks system.
The latest honor is not his first Prospect Team of the Week selection, either. Torin previously earned the recognition in April 2024 and again in May 2026. His third selection comes during one of his best stretches of the season.
Torin is currently ranked as the Diamondbacks' No. 17 prospect and has continued to build momentum as the season progresses. His recent production gives the organization another encouraging development to monitor as he works toward eventually reaching the upper levels of the system.
While his power has become more noticeable during his recent hot streak, Torin's ability to consistently make contact remains a central part of his game. His combination of bat-to-ball skills, offensive consistency and improving power has helped him stand out among Arizona's collection of young talent.
With the minor-league season approaching its conclusion, Torin has given the Diamondbacks plenty to be encouraged about. His latest Prospect Team of the Week appearance provides another recognition of just how productive he has been during a breakout stretch.
