Big night at the plate powered Arizona Diamondbacks over Chicago White Sox 11-7.

For baseball fans who showed up wanting to see some runs scored at Chase Field on Wednesday night, then they got their wishes granted.

The Arizona Diamondbacks continued their stellar play as of late, defeating the Chicago White Sox 11-7. Ildemaro Vargas flexed his muscles, hammering two home runs off White Sox pitching.

Vargas' first homer was a three-run shot in the second inning. He followed that up with a two-run bomb in the third inning.

"The three-run home run just immediately gave the team energy, gave the dugout energy, and just got us realigned," Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said after the victory, according to MLB.com. "And that was a really good moment for him personally, and then for the team, where we just were kind of in a little bit of a slumber."

Right now, Vargas is in his third tour of duty with the Diamondbacks. He's proven invaluable at this time as the team has dealt with injuries.

"The fact that my teammates are enjoying the whole situation is what I appreciate the most," Vargas said through an interpreter. "I'm actually enjoying and embracing the moment and having fun with it."

After Chicago took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, the Diamondbacks came back with a four-spot in the second inning. They followed that up with three two-run innings in the third, fourth, and sixth innings.

Eduardo Rodriguez picked up the victory for the Diamondbacks, raising his record to 2-0 this season. White Sox starter Anthony Kay took the brunt of the beating from Arizona hitters, taking the loss. His record evens out at 1-1.

Nolan Arenado was 4-for-4 in the batter's box on Wednesday night, while Corbin Carroll and Geraldo Perdomo were 3-for-4 individually.

These teams wrap up their series with a Thursday afternoon matchup at Chase Field in Downtown Phoenix.
