Philadelphia Phillies jumped out early, but Arizona Diamondbacks came back en route to 5-4 victory.

Michael Soroka had a rough first inning against the Philadelphia Phillies, but his Arizona Diamondbacks teammates rallied in the fifth inning and managed to hold off the Phillies 5-4 at Citizens Bank Park on Friday night.

Soroka worked 5 2/3 innings, giving up four runs (all earned), walking two, and striking out 10. He ended up getting the victory, putting his season record at 3-0. Of Soroka's 93 pitches against the Phillies, 61 were for strikes.

Phillies starter Jesus Luzardo absorbed the loss, giving up all five Diamondbacks runs in 4 2/3 innings of work. He's now 1-2 on the season for Philadelphia.

The Phillies looked like they were going to rout the Diamondbacks as they posted a four-run first inning. Bryce Harper's double to right scored Trea Turner and put Philadelphia up 1-0.

Brandon Marsh slugged his second home run this season, bringing home Harper and Kyle Schwarber. That helped the Phillies take a 4-0 lead and, well, it appeared that a rout was going to take place.

That, though, did not happen.

Now, let's go to the top of the fifth inning. With one out, Ketel Marte's two-run single brought Jose Fernandez and Tim Tawa home. The Diamondbacks cut into the Phillies' lead at 4-2.

Ildemaro Vargas followed with a run-scoring single, moving Arizona a bit closer at 4-3.

With two outs, James McCann doubled, driving home Marte and Vargas for a 5-4 Diamondbacks lead.

But, in the bottom of the ninth, things got a bit interesting. With two outs, Justin Crawford tripled -- his first triple this season -- and set things up for the Phillies to possibly tie the game and send it into extra innings.

Diamondbacks reliever Paul Sewald, who worked the ninth inning, got Turner to fly out to left and that was the ballgame. Sewald picked up a save for his efforts.

The Diamondbacks and Phillies continue their series on Saturday before wrapping it up on Sunday at Citizens Bank Park.
