Will Smith's solo home run in the top of the 11th inning put him among World Series heroes. Dodgers repeat as World Series champions after gutsy 5-4, 11-inning victory over tough Toronto Blue Jays team.

Go head and bleed all the Dodger Blue you want to on Saturday night, Dodgers fans.

Your team has repeated as World Series champions. Will Smith's solo home run in the top of the 11th inning, along with an incredible relief pitching performance from World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto, led the Los Angeles Dodgers past a gutsy Toronto Blue Jays team 5-4.

This Dodgers team fought back from being down and almost out. Both teams had scoring opportunities throughout the game. But the Dodgers just had a couple of guys step up in a big way.

    No, it was not Shohei.

    No, it was not Freddie.

It was - wait for it! - Miguel Rojas, whose ninth-inning solo home run tied the game at 4-4. The Blue Jays had the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth, but could not get a run across the plate.

"No shade to Miggy Rojas, but no one really expected him to hit a home run," Mookie Betts said after the game when talking with Fox's Kevin Burkhardt, Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, and Alex Rodriguez. "He's our mic guy. He came through for us in the last two games."

"Honestly, we were all in a really great headspace, you wouldn't even know it was Game 7," Betts said when talking about coming back in Game 6. "We know how to win tough games, we know how to win blowouts. We just know how to win."

When asked by Jeter about defense, "It was just a collection of guys that we knew we had to take care of our jobs, and defense is part of our jobs. Defense is kind of something that flies under the radar."

After Smith's home run in the top of the 11th, the Blue Jays had runners on first and third with one out. Alejandro Kirk, who had quite a World Series, broke his bat and grounded into a 6-3 double play. That set off a celebration as Dodgers players stormed the Rogers Centre field.

All Toronto fans could do is sit and watch as the Dodgers players, including the retiring Clayton Kershaw, mobbed Yamamoto and Smith on the pitcher's mound.

This Dodgers team went up to Toronto and took Games 6 and 7. They found a way to win in both games and, believe it or not, it was timely hitting and stellar relief pitching that proved to be a winning combination.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts let out a victory scream as he hit the field, too. He made sure to go and give Yamamoto a big hug, too. Take a look at this post on X from ESPN MLB reporter Jeff Passan. You want to know what Yamamoto did? Just take a look at this.

The Fox broadcast talked with Smith and Freeman after the game. Both players gave credit to Toronto for being a tough, tough opponent.

As the Fox broadcast went to commercial, they showed a quick look into the Blue Jays dugout as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. looked like he was wiping away a tear from his eyes.

Los Angeles had a chance to clinch the 2025 World Series at home, but Toronto won Games 4 and 5 to take a 3-1 lead. All the Blue Jays had to do was win one of the final two games on their home turf.

But the Dodgers proved to be a tough, tough opponent.

For a team that struggled with a bullpen that was incredibly shaky at times, to an offense that had trouble putting together timely hitting, well, all that's forgotten about now.

The Dodgers are the first team to repeat as World Series champions since 1998-2000.

On the field, Burkhardt was down with MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, who is giving The Commissioner's Trophy to Dodgers owner Mark Walter. Walter raises the trophy in the air and Dodgers fans who were in Toronto were cheering.

"It feels really good," Walter said with the trophy in hand. "It was crazy," Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said. "I can't say enough about these guys and the way they compete."

Now the City of Angels gets to celebrate all Saturday night long, setting up what is bound to be a Parade of Champions that will not be forgotten anytime soon.

Yes, Dodgers fans, your Dodgers did the dang thing.
