Four-time American League Gold Glove Award winner would add a steady presence in LA outfield along with a solid bat, too.

As the General Managers meetings become more focused on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers might have their eyes on a solid defensive outfield star.

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Steven Kwan has won four straight Gold Glove Awards, covering all four of his MLB seasons. That's right, Dodgers fans: Kwan has gold at home to show off how much of a defensive presence he's been in the Guardians' outfield.

USA Today MLB reporter Bob Nightengale dropped a little tidbit on Kwan and potential interest from the Dodgers: "[The Guardians] nearly traded him to the Dodgers at the trade deadline and Los Angeles will come calling again...The price-tag will be high, but the Dodgers certainly have the prospect capital."

In four seasons with the Guardians, Kwan has a slash line of .281/.351/.390. He's hit 106 career doubles, 18 triples, and 36 home runs. To say that Kwan has been a steady performer at the plate would be an understatement.

The Dodgers, of course, are looking to tune things up for a third straight World Series championship. Getting an additional veteran outfielder, with a solid record of defense as well as offense, will help a lot. Kwan also has swiped a few bases in Cleveland, too, and that element of his game would be most welcome at Dodger Stadium.

Does Los Angeles have the money? Probably so. Mind you, Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and general manager Brandon Gomes don't want to frivolously spend cash.

Besides an outfielder, Los Angeles desperately needs to address the bullpen. If Dodgers manager Dave Roberts can have some trustworthy arms out there for late-game appearances, then his life probably will be made much, much easier.

For now, Dodgers fans will have to watch and see if Kwan moves from the chilly air of Cleveland to the warm, almost tropical climate of Los Angeles.

Edman will undergo surgery

Tommy Edman will have surgery on his right ankle next week, Gomes reported. Edman is still scheduled to be ready for Spring Training next season.

Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic first reported the news on Tuesday afternoon.
