Does it surprise anyone that the Los Angeles Dodgers are ranked No. 1 among all 30 MLB clubs as far as their lineup goes?
This monster of a team has players up and down that can make a difference at the plate. It's a scary-good lineup of stars that the Dodgers have entering the 2026 MLB regular season.
Now, what types of statistics or data can confirm this, not only for Dodgers fans but also for the rest of the sport? Well, veteran MLB executive and MLB Radio analyst Jim Bowden has put some statistics and data together for his latest article at The Athletic.
As for the team's key additions entering this season, Bowden points toward outfielder Kyle Tucker. But you cannot leave reliever Edwin Díaz out of that category, either. He also sees outfielder Andy Pages as a breakout candidate for the Dodgers. Bowden also points toward outfielders Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope to keep an eye on, too.
"The back-to-back World Series champion Dodgers have an All-Star caliber lineup, led by three future Hall of Famers, Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman," Bowden wrote.
"They added the No. 1 free agent, Kyle Tucker, who has been an All-Star for four consecutive seasons while winning two Silver Slugger awards and a Gold Glove," Bowden continued.
This is one high-octane lineup that the Dodgers will put on the field this season. Dodgers fans thought last season's lineup looked packed. Obviously, Bowden just loves what he's seeing from Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and, by extension, probably Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman.
The Dodgers are not afraid to spend money (obviously). Their pick-ups have been wise ones to help the ballclub stay at the top of the MLB world.
"This is the deepest lineup in the game with power throughout, including the emerging Andy Pages, who belted 27 homers last year, and Teoscar Hernández, who added 25," Bowden wrote.
"Will Smith and Max Muncy — both known for their clutch hitting — top off the game’s best lineup," Bowden continued. "The Dodgers also have two elite outfield prospects (Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope) in the pipeline; De Paula will likely be ready to help the big-league team sometime this summer, if needed."
Now, when can Dodgers fans get an up-close-and-personal look at their team in person? Fret not, Dodgers fans. Head out to Dodger Stadium on Monday night as the Freeway Series with the Los Angeles Angels continues.
