Christian Zazueta delivered another encouraging start while Kendall George and Mike Sirota continued displaying the tools that have made them intriguing prospects for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Los Angeles Dodgers' top prospect Christian Zazueta turned in another impressive outing for Double-A Tulsa on July 25, continuing what has been a steady rise through the organization's pitching pipeline.
The right-hander worked four innings, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out seven and issuing only one walk. The lone run against him came on a solo home run, but outside of that swing, Zazueta controlled the game with an aggressive approach and the ability to miss bats.
His seven strikeouts highlighted the swing-and-miss arsenal that has become a defining part of his season. Zazueta consistently attacked hitters early in counts and generated weak contact when opponents did put the ball in play.
While his outing lasted only four innings, it was another encouraging performance from a pitcher who continues to strengthen his case as one of the Dodgers' more intriguing young arms. His combination of strike-throwing ability and improving command has allowed him to consistently keep opposing offenses in check.
George's speed continues to impact games
Kendall George once again demonstrated why his speed remains one of the best tools in the Dodgers' farm system.
The outfielder collected two hits while creating pressure every time he reached base. His aggressive baserunning forced the defense to rush plays and helped manufacture offense without relying solely on extra-base hits.
George's offensive game continues to evolve beyond his elite speed. Rather than simply putting the ball in play, he has shown improved confidence attacking pitches and using the entire field. When he reaches base, his ability to steal bags and take extra bases immediately changes the pace of a game.
As he continues to develop physically, George's ability to combine contact skills with top-tier athleticism gives him one of the highest floors among Dodgers position prospects.
Sirota displays patience
Mike Sirota may not have filled the stat sheet with hits, but he still found ways to impact the game.
The outfielder drew a walk during a key late-inning rally before immediately putting pressure on the defense by stealing second base. It was another example of the mature offensive approach that has stood out since he joined the Dodgers organization.
Sirota has consistently shown advanced strike-zone awareness, refusing to chase pitches outside the zone while taking advantage of opportunities once he reaches base. His combination of patience, athleticism and instincts continues to make him an intriguing all-around prospect.
Although the box score may not fully reflect his contributions, Sirota's ability to create scoring opportunities without recording a hit illustrates the complete skill set he brings to the field.
