Farm System Sits in No. 2 Spot for Los Angeles Dodgers cover image

In a recent article grading MLB farm systems, the Los Angeles Dodgers drop one spot from No. 1 to No. 2.

With prospects like outfielder Zyhir Hope in the minor leagues, the Los Angeles Dodgers have shown time and again that their organization pushes out some of MLB's top future stars.

The Dodgers' minor-league system is one of the best among all 30 MLB clubs. They have a plethora of solid prospects who are still getting ready for a future spot with the big-league club.

A recent article from MLB.com ranked all 30 MLB teams' farm systems from 1 through 30. It's not a surprise to see Los Angeles among the top teams on this list. After all, the Dodgers have been the pre-eminent MLB team in recent years.

No one has to tell the Dodgers faithful about their team winning the World Series in three of the last six years. During that run, there have been some minor-league call-ups who have contributed at different times.

What does the MLB.com article say about the Dodgers' system right now?

"The Dodgers have won three of the last six World Series and made 13 consecutive playoff appearances, including 12 National League West titles," the article states.

"They also excel at acquiring and developing prospects, with industry executives ranking them as doing the best job of developing both hitters and pitchers and rating them second-best at gathering talent via the international market and trades," according to the article.

"No system features better outfielders, and while Los Angeles has a fairly hitter-heavy Top 30, River Ryan and Jackson Ferris could contribute to the big-league pitching staff this year," the article indicates.

Besides Hope, other Dodgers minor-league players getting some love from the article include outfielders Josue De Paula, Eduardo Quintero, and Mike Sirota, but also shortstop Emil Morales.

While the Dodgers are at No. 2 in the farm system rankings, they've managed to just get better over the past couple of seasons. As MLB.com puts out a farm system rankings story on a consistent basis, Los Angeles has climbed the charts, so to speak.

In 2024, the Dodgers ranked at No. 8 in the preseason; in 2024 at the midseason point, they ranked No. 5 in farm systems. Then, in 2025, Los Angeles had a No. 4 preseason ranking. And, by midseason 2025, the Dodgers were slotted in the No. 1 spot.

Which organization knocked them out of the No. 1 position? The Milwaukee Brewers, who lost to the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series in 2025.

There's no stopping the Dodgers in their pursuit of a third straight World Series title. Let's see if some of these prospects get some time on the big-league level this season.
