Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker connects on first Cactus League homer as Dodgers beat Seattle Mariners.

Where were you when Kyle Tucker hit his first home run as a Los Angeles Dodger?

Well, Tucker finally showed his power stroke on Friday night as the Dodgers defeated the Seattle Mariners 10-7 in a Cactus League game in Peoria, Arizona.

Tucker stepped to the plate in the top of the sixth inning with things tied up at 3-3. He saw a pitch he liked and drove it over the center-field wall for a solo homer. That put the Dodgers up 4-3 at that point.

It was a welcome sight for many of the Dodgers faithful who have been hoping for Tucker, the man known as "King Tuck," to showcase his excellent swing at the plate.

After the game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was obviously pleased by what he saw from Tucker.

"Obviously, he takes good at-bats," Roberts said, according to Dodgers beat reporter Sonja Chen of MLB.com. "So for him to get into one today, that was good for us to see, good for him. … But man, it’s just fun to watch him compete in the batter’s box.”

Tucker hasn't been a regular player during Cactus League play. He's only appeared in seven Spring Training games, even missing time to go home and celebrate the birth of his first child with his wife, Samantha.

Still, Tucker has signed that big-money free agent contract. Los Angeles wants to see more home run swings from Tucker in the 2026 MLB season.

The Dodgers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first against Seattle. Teoscar Hernández hit his second Cactus League home run, bringing home both Tucker and Miguel Rojas, who reached base.

Seattle tied things up at 3-3 with a three-run third inning. But the Dodgers took control in the pivotal sixth inning, where Los Angeles scored six runs. Tucker started the outburst with his homer, then Santiago Espinal had an RBI single.

With one out in the sixth, James Tibbs III slammed a three-run homer, driving home Noah Miller and Kyle Nevin. The Dodgers were up 9-3 and were clearly in the driver's seat on Friday night in the desert.

Los Angeles tacked on another run in the ninth, while the Mariners put up a run in the seventh and three runs in the ninth. But the Dodgers held on for the victory. Blake Treinen was the winner in relief for Los Angeles, while former Dodgers farmhand Robinson Ortiz was the loser for Seattle.

What's on the docket for the Dodgers on Saturday? They will go on the road to play the Chicago White Sox. First pitch is at 4:05 p.m. ET.
