Rojas will come back and try and help the Dodgers win a third straight World Series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers took a step toward keeping the gang all together, if you will, on Wednesday.

According to reports, the Dodgers have signed infielder Miguel Rojas to a one-year deal.  Yahoo Sports reported the news that was posted first by MLB Network Insider Jon Heyman.

Longtime Dodgers beat writer Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times also confirmed Rojas' signing and had additional details.

"Can confirm the Dodgers and Miguel Rojas have agreed on a one-year, $5.5 million deal to bring the infielder back to LA next season," Harris posted on X. "Rojas announced during the playoffs that next year will be the final of his MLB career. After that, he will indeed stay with the Dodgers in a player development role."

Rojas going into that player development role can help the Dodgers in the long run. On Wednesday, Josh Byrnes, who had been overseeing player development and scouting for the Dodgers, headed out to become general manager of the Colorado Rockies.

Byrnes returns to an organization that he worked with before and rejoins Paul DePodesta, whom he worked with earlier in his career in Cleveland.

Rojas was a free agent on the market. But he reportedly has stated that he wanted to come back and play for the Dodgers in what would be his last year as an MLB player.

On Thursday, the Dodgers made it official: Rojas will return next sesaon.

Last season, during the 2024 regular season, Rojas, in 290 at-bats, had seven home runs, 27 RBIs, and 76 hits. During the Dodgers' postseason run to The Commissioner's Trophy, Rojas had five hits, hit a home run, scored three runs, and drove in two runs in 18 at-bats.

Of course, Dodgers fans know that Rojas contributed a game-tying home run in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Rojas was also part of a key play at second base, where he threw a runner out at home plate. That could potentially have been the winning run for Toronto.

With Rojas now coming back, it definitely gives Dodgers manager Dave Roberts another trustworthy player for his infield. Rojas has seen a lot of time at second base, so he could be in that position again in the 2026 MLB season. But Dodgers general manager Brendan Gomes might go to the Winter Meetings in Orlando, Fla., and look for another infielder as well.
