The Los Angeles Dodgers hunt for a postseason breakthrough against the Milwaukee Brewers' young ace.

Milwaukee Brewers superstar Jacob Misiorowski is set to make the second postseason start of his career on Sunday, Oct. 11, in Game 1 of the 2026 National League Championship Series.

This is a place that the Los Angeles Dodgers know a thing or two about, and thankfully, it's not their first time going head-to-head against the projected Cy Young winner.

Misiorowski, 24, has only made 45 combined starts between the regular season and playoffs since he debuted last year.

Here in 2026, the Dodgers got to face him at home on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The Brewers won that game, 4-1, in a strong six-inning start that saw Miz improve to 12-5.

Other than that, Misiorowski improved to 4-1 on July 8, 2025, when he threw another stellar six innings against them.

Of the Dodgers' three career appearances against Misiorowski, only one has been in the playoffs. That came on Oct. 16, 2025, when he took the loss in Game 3 of the 2025 NLCS.

Revisiting Misiorowski's 2025 NLCS appearance

Roughly exactly one year ago today, Misiorowski relieved Aaron Ashby, who struggled against the first four batters he faced.

Ashby was always going to be used as an opener, but here in 2026 the Brewers know their best bet is to just have Misiorowski go out there and do his thing.

In Game 3 of the 2025 NLCS, Misiorowski recorded the final two outs in the first inning with a pair of strikeouts, though it wasn't all smooth sailing from there.

Miz faced just one batter over the minimum in the second through fifth innings, only to be pulled in the bottom of the sixth after issuing a single, walk, and then another single.

Despite only allowing one earned run and striking out nine batters in five innings, he was stuck taking the first (and only) loss of his postseason career.

Of the 73 pitches he threw, 51 of those were strikes. He allowed just one walk and three base hits.

Miz dominated the Dodgers in 2026

Just over two months ago, Misiorowski threw 98 pitches in six innings against the Dodgers. He allowed only one earned run on five hits. In total, he struck out six batters and only walked one.

One of the biggest numbers that stood out from his start against them this season was the fact that he only threw nine first-pitch strikes to the 24 batters he faced. In addition to his six strikeouts, Misiorowski got a pair of Dodgers to ground out and had 10 flyouts.
