Tuesday night's start doesn't put much faith in Roki Sasaki for Los Angeles Dodgers before regular season.

Roki Sasaki needs to get his stuff together. Like, right now.

Sure, Sasaki started in a Cactus League game for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night against the Kansas City Royals. But he was not impressive at all.

This should cause some concern for Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and pitching coach Mark Prior.

After the game, which the Dodgers rallied in the ninth inning to win 10-4, Sasaki seemed to think that Spring Training results were not that important. He probably meant that getting the work in itself meant more than whether he won or lost a game.

While that may be true in the big picture, getting ready for the regular season in Spring Training does matter.

This wasn't the type of start that Roberts or, probably, Dodgers fans wanted to see out of Sasaki.

Now, the questions about whether or not Sasaki really will be ready when Opening Day rolls around will just get louder.

Sasaki worked 3 1/3 innings, giving up four hits, three runs (all earned), walking four, striking out five, and allowing one home run.

Jack Harris, longtime Dodgers beat reporter who now writes for the California Post, offered this summary of Sasaki's outing in a post on X.

Fredo Cervantes, who covers the Dodgers for The Sporting Tribune, posted a video on X of Sasaki's interpreter sharing Sasaki's views on his outing.

“There’s a lot of things I need to work on but it's just spring training,” Sasaki said through his interpreter. “The result in spring training doesn't really matter.”

While Sasaki might not care about results in Spring Training, Dodgers fans probably want him to take a more serious tone when the regular season starts.

As for the Dodgers' big comeback, Jack Suwinski hit a solo home run off of Royals reliever Hector Neris to break up a 4-4 tie.

With the Dodgers now up 5-4, Seby Zavala smoked a pitch from Neris and went the opposite way. When the baseball came down, it was over the fence and Zavala cleared the bases. Neris, who pitched last season for the Houston Astros, didn't have a good outing for the Royals on Tuesday night.

Zavala posted a grand slam and that was the icing on the cake for the Dodgers.

It was the big blast in a six-run ninth that led the Dodgers to victory.

Dalton Rushing hit a solo home run in the third inning for Los Angeles.

But all eyes should be on Sasaki and what he showed on Tuesday night. The Dodgers sent down Ryder Ryan in their latest round of cuts. Could he have been a potential better option for the Dodgers' starting rotation?

Obviously, the Dodgers didn't think so.

Sasaki still has time to get his mechanics straightened out or whatever might be wrong with him.

But time is of the essence for him and the Dodgers.
