With their three-peat dreams fading, the Los Angeles Dodgers face elimination against the Milwaukee Brewers.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to explain why the Los Angeles Dodgers are on the verge of being swept by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Manager Dave Roberts has done tremendous things with this franchise in the past few years, but this team looks like a shell of itself here in 2026.
Milwaukee is on the verge of their second-ever World Series appearance, and that says a lot as the Dodgers are back-to-back World Series champions.
When it comes down to who wants it more, only time will tell, but the Dodgers are now in win or go home mode, and it'll take a reverse sweep to keep their historic three-peat hopes alive.
Dodgers starting pitchers are 0-2 in the series
As crazy as it is to say, the Dodgers have only gotten 13.2 innings out of the dominant Tarik Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Blake Snell trio.
If those three can't stop this Brewers offense, who can? Skubal took the loss in Game 1 as he gave up a pair of earned runs in five innings. Brice Turang hit a solo shot and then rookie Luis Lara singled in the game-winning run.
In Game 2, some defensive blunders from Logan Henderson kept Yamamoto out of contention to take the loss, but he lasted just 2.2 innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits.
Then, Snell fell to 0-1 this postseason as he allowed three homers to a Brewers offense that barely hit any during the regular season.
Home runs have been the difference
Speaking of home runs, the Brewers have hit five of them in this series while the Dodgers don't have a single one.
Turang, William Contreras, Jackson Chourio, Jake Bauers, and Garrett Mitchell have all gone yard in the 2026 NLCS.
This Dodgers team has all the money in the world, but right now they can't buy a hit. They have just 15 through the first three games, a number that looks like nothing knowing the Brewers had 12 in Game 2 alone.
Dodgers have left 19 runners stranded
Not only have the Dodgers left 19 runners stranded in this series, but they're an astonishing 2-for-16 with runners in scoring position across three games.
Obviously, the Brewers bullpen has been a huge reason why. Other than Abner Uribe's rough outing in Game 3, they've done their part in limiting the Dodgers offense, which included a historic perfect five innings of work in Game 2.
