The Milwaukee Brewers phenom surpassed Juan Soto by launching a historic leadoff blast against the Los Angeles Dodgers' Blake Snell.
Jackson Chourio doesn't turn 23 years old until March 11, 2027, but he just recorded a major postseason home run milestone.
The Milwaukee Brewers left fielder was recently named a Gold Glove finalist, and for good reason, but he's also proving why he's a future MVP candidate with how good he is at the plate.
On the first pitch in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday night at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium, Chourio took Los Angeles Dodgers' veteran Blake Snell yard.
His leadoff home run not only helped set the tone, but it put him alone in the history books as he officially has the most home runs by someone before they turn 23 in MLB history.
Chourio was previously in a tie with Juan Soto and Kyle Schwarber, but after hitting his sixth playoff homer, he officially stands alone at the top.
Brewers have a superstar on their hands
It's hard to put into words just how much Chourio means to this team. Sure, his batting average in the playoffs may not be out-of-this-world, but he's put together a few clutch hits and did so again in Game 3.
Chourio's sixth postseason homer came off Snell, someone who made his MLB debut in 2016. For reference, Chourio was only 12 years old.
At the time of writing, it remains to be seen just how important that home run is, but the Brewers hold a 1-0 lead over the Dodgers, and that's all thanks to the Venezuelan superstar.
Chourio, who made his MLB debut in 2024, has now hit a pair of homers in all three of his seasons in the big leagues.
The Brewers have made the playoffs all three years he's been with the team, but it's crazy to think he had a pair of playoff homers in '24 despite only having 11 at-bats.
In 2025, Chourio had two home runs in 33 at-bats. This year, he hit his second in his 26th at-bat.
To be in the same conversation as Soto and Schwarber is one thing, but now to be above them is another.
Hitting five home runs before turning 23 was impressive, but the club who only managed to hit four is just as good: Bryce Harper, Miguel Cabrera, Andruw Jones, and Mickey Mantle.
There's no doubt Chourio is only scratching the surface, and that's an extremely scary sight for opposing pitchers as Milwaukee has him under an eight-year, $82 million deal.
