Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will turn to Glasnow, Ohtani in hopes of finishing off NLCS in a sweep.

While the Los Angeles Dodgers are getting some rest at home after traveling on an off day in the National League Championship Series, Dodgers manager named his Games 3 and 4 starters on Tuesday night.

Roberts will give Tyler Glasnow the ball in a Game 3 start on Thursday afternoon at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Shohei Ohtani will make a start in Game 4.

Glasnow knows his mission: Get the Brewers hitters off-stride and keep up the starting pitching success enjoyed by Games 1 and 2 starters Blake Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Snell and Yamamoto set a high bar for the Dodgers' pitching staff, especially Yamamoto with his complete-game efforts in a 5-1 win over the Brewers in Game 2 at American Family Field.

Should Glasnow get the win on Thursday, Ohtani can come on and end the series in four games. The Dodgers lead the NLCS 2-0 over Milwaukee in the best-of-seven series.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy has not named a Game 3 starter as of Wednesday afternoon, but he's made it clear that it's an all-hands-on-deck situation. That's not surprising as Murphy and the Brewers want to avoid going down 3-0 on Thursday.

In Glasnow's last start, a 2-1, 11-inning victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Division Series, he went six innings. He gave up two hits, no runs, walked three and struck out eight in an 83-pitch performance.

Glasnow had previous postseason pitching experience when he was a member of the Tampa Bay Rays' rotation. He even took part in the 2020 World Series against the Dodgers, which Los Angeles won 4-2 in the best-of-seven series.

But Glasnow will be counted on to, much like Yamamoto, give some length in his Thursday start. Dodgers closer Roki Sasaki didn't have to pitch on Tuesday and had Wednesday off to rest. He should be ready to go if Roberts needs to bring him in late.

Ohtani's last postseason start was also against the Phillies in the NLDS. He went six innings, gave up three hits and three earned runs while striking out nine. Roberts would not mind if Ohtani delivered a similar performance in Game 4.

Thursday's Game 4 starts at 6:08 p.m. Eastern and can be seen on TBS, truTV, and HBO Max.
