Tanner Scott better not read any social media posts after his awful outing on Saturday night. Scott came on in relief of fellow reliever Blake Treinen. Treinen came on after Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw 8 2/3 innings of no-hit ball.

Well, forget all that because the Baltimore Orioles scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth, led by Emmanuel Rivera's two-run single, to steal a 4-3 victory at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. On a night in Baltimore where they celebrated the modern-day "Iron Man" himself Cal Ripken, the Orioles, a last-place team, put together a night to remember.

It took them until the ninth, but they got the job done.

Poor Yamamoto. He threw 112 pitches in his outing and had Orioles hitters swinging and missing all the time. He was one out away from history. But he couldn't get the job done. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts came on to get him after Jackson Holliday hit a solo home run that barely cleared the right-field fence.

Roberts called in Treinen to get one out. What happened? He gave up a double to Jeremiah Jackson, then hit Gunnar Henderson with a pitch. Ryan Mountcastle was walked while Treinen threw a wild pitch, moving Jackson and Henderson up 90 feet.

Colton Cowser walked with the bases loaded, putting the Orioles within 3-2. Roberts came out and pulled Treinen, only to bring in Scott. Dodgers fans probably didn't want to see Scott, who gave up the game-winning home run against the Orioles on Friday night.

Well, it didn't work out. Scott faced Rivera, who smoked a single to center and drove in Henderson and Mountcastle, setting off an on-field celebration that probably is still going on in Baltimore.

After Roberts came out to get him, fans in attendance, both Dodgers and Orioles fans, stood on their feet and applauded as Yamamoto left the field.

Through eight innings, Yamamoto had walked two and struck out nine in keeping Baltimore hitters off-stride with his pitching arsenal.

Through seven innings, shortstop Mookie Betts was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Shohei Ohtani is 1-for-4 with an RBI, and Freddie Freeman has gone 2-for-3.

This might go down as one of the wildest finishes in the 2025 MLB season. Dodgers fans and faithful will want answers from Roberts, but probably will not be satisfied with anything he says. This series wraps up on Sunday in Baltimore.

To add insult to injury, the Orioles will go for the sweep.
