As the Los Angeles Dodgers are still celebrating their 2025 World Series championship, it's going to be time to retool the lineup before next season.
Because of this, the Dodgers - despite having the highest payroll in all of MLB - should fork over some cash for one of the prized free agents on the market, outfielder Kyle Tucker.
Tucker had a pretty fair season with the Chicago Cubs in 2025, but he was a bit sketchy at times. He wasn't as steady at the plate as he has been in the past with the Houston Astros. Still, his veteran presence and ability to hit for power fit right into the Dodgers.
Why Tucker? Because the Dodgers could use some help in the outfield. Of course, they had some solid outfielders last season yet a team can never go wrong with another solid glove out there.
Tucker has a reputation for being good in the outfield. That's something the Dodgers could really use going forward.
With Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, after some down time, looking forward to next season, he's going to want the best players possible to make a return trip to the Fall Classic.
For now, the Dodgers can look at fortifying their roster.
To be honest, getting Tucker seems like a no-brainer.
Yet the team will look at what they have on board right now and move forward.
Getting Tucker in Dodger Blue might rankle some baseball fans (like in Houston and Chicago, for instance). That's another reason for the Dodgers to go all in and sign Tucker in the offseason.
Let's see, though, what the team does in the next few weeks and months.
